Hello all...How goes it?...
Been on here a while an decided bout time i came out...

So here she is my Continental crap cake,Had her 2yrs an absolutely love her.
Absolutely tons of history..mostly renault...The chassis/body are solid...
Cant find any plates,All genuine stamped panels..
An Even the sills look original..Just turned 90k an up until then
the original engine was still in place,,cosmeticially she is a daily,,
Spot the peel and the windscreen surrounds on order...but plans are afoot for a freshen up In time with Original colour an stickers is the plan...

Old engine made--Max Hp @fly--154.7--Peak Torque--158 dead @15psi...127hp@wheels.Set up @..TOTD..Mr T's words were its "solid/Quiet as a lamb an Very surprising Punch for a 5"..
Enternally Standard...K-tec uprated head set an HT bolts..,Enlarged main jet,Double cap cooler,Alloy rad,Cup boost mod,Ketec bigger downpipe,
Turbotechnics Hybrid an actuator..Unknown Mods2it but they
confirmed its one they built..
(Going back for a freshen up an few improvements soon)..,,
Propper plugs an leads,full hose sets,perc still working an fan on a bypass for piece of mind..
K-tec Uprated Fuel pump Std reg,K-tec uprated clutch on l/b flywheel an no DV,
And jus well serviced an cared for...

Mechanically..All replaced..Complete Brakes Including compensator/all 4 callipers/all 4 Goodridge Flexis/New cylinder/servo/Ebc Drilled an Grooved all round an Green pads all round..
Full Apex kit 35mm...Torsion bar soon too be Fettled..Complete arms/bushes/rack...
Body Standard
Wheels Speak for emselves...

So thats the Good....Now the ****e...Decided to Replace the engine a while ago
Jus too give her a treat really as it had jus started too show signs of breathing heavy...And Had been Driven Spiritedly For over a year hassle free...
So Went too a Supposedly Experienced source..bought a Complete engine as the clock was against me..As She is a daily so needed too get it done..

Propper Pissed But not Deterred...So if anyone reading this has any suggestion on tuner/buider/or Good ol Home Brewer i'd Be greatfull to hear your Reccomendations...
But as u Can hopefully appreciate once bitten twice shy...

Have got new seals but am stuck fellas...

Posted in technical bit about con rod bolts an drew a blank...Some say reuse some say dont????????HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna rebuild bottom an get another head sorted with bolts an gaskets an another pump..And a seperate Ally rad an remote oil cooler sorted too...

So any advice on the bolts bit as always gents is greatly appreciated

personaly i would take pride in telling people now as we can all see whats happend here, and esspecaily if they are a big in the game company as most would use them

you don't have to change the bolts as there not stretch bolts.

i'm in the same boat waiting on parts eg.forge piston and rods/liners/285 cam valve springs pulley wheel/bearings..
but it's all worth the wait....

cbg motorsport for rods and piston got a good deal on them.
But got a long wait for them 4-6 weeks

Well time is passing and nat day is not gonna happen
So decided to pull the bottom end apart see whats what....
Couldnt be fecked to send it back as cost a Fecking fortune,,so after some deliberation decided to let me mate with x4 C1J turbo builds under his belt and a million cvh's,,but a good few years since last C1J build..
10 to be exact ...We ripped it open







Whats left of the seals..We then stripped the pistons/rods out the liners,cleaned and de-rusted and decoked the lot,and then Reassembled fitting 4new seals appossed to the 2/half it had
Sadly no Re-building pics as camera had a bath....

Crank was sweet as thank feck no harm done

Block was oil stoned on all mating surfaces to ensure its as clean as poss and the trusty c1 would glue up good

Spent Ages in here making sure was as mint as poss..

Then everything was given a thourough clean and the bottom end timed up an reassembled..liner seals fitted dry "no sealant"so fingers crossed
Me mate had Forgotten how easy the C1J is to work on,and im now less fearfully of its frenchie goodness too
So new Gaskets all round and fully glued up
Sadly as above camera got bath'd so no reassembly pics but new camera by sat so pics of the assembled block will follow...

Now the heads being given the once over too see if savable so awaiting verdict,,if not well a newun is the only answer...will update hopefully sunday...,

Well been a while...

and after all the above......

She alive

Chuffed. Rebuilt the lump got her running second turn of the key and she been as sweet as a nut.

So MOT'd her well early an she went straight through.Double result.
So decided as she been good we get her set up as she running well lean,made 152 @12 @the fly with the advice that another 1k of running in she could do 160-170 with a touch more boost.
Then as we left the Wizards rollers....Disaster.
Clutch cable snapped Now sorted (Cheers all if your reading )so after another 5day wait.....She back again
So for the moment im just gonna enjoy her an break her in some more then see what next...Will upload a few pics soon and maybe the rather quick setup vid done on shattie nokia,Will see....

So hopefully its finally time to get to some meets

Believe it was fella...they were in there but suspect the liners became dislodged in transit...wouldnt/didnt suspect a thing as a new build lump....

Replaced them and low and behold....Sorted

just be SURE the liner seats are spotless!!!!!Some say use a bit of sealer some say dont...I didnt an so far all good...as a cossie owner found out to his surprise

Only issue now is a re-fresh of the turbo as i believe theres a crack inside....

Well as requested a few pics of how she sits today...not the best but you get the idea..

There will be a vid or two at some point an all,jus need a windless day....

Progress so far is now a non water cooled turbo, suspect a crack..and where to go next....?
Re-fresh of turbo, better actuator, afr kit, lagging, Torsion bar tweeking and more boost as 12psi jus seems poor,,if its the Stage3 T25 as assumed...
All that Along with a good set up.,But Will see where this goes...

So for now anyway im just enjoying a working 5 again...

its a garage in west yorks, a stones throw from where i live. dont think you would ever see a gt turbo on there forecourt tho. someone must have just got them to make the numberplates

Think i got the original bill of sale somewhere i'll see where she came from if so..,

The plates are fairly new, gonna get a form of DVLA to see if i can find original vendor if aint got bill of sale, would like replica dealer plates if possible
