Ill be down for this event but without a car to run...

I've ordered mine can't wait, see if I can actually get my car there this year..
Who else is going?
Well after paying for a track pass and not getting on track at ND I feel I should do the same again for this event LOL
Not 100% if I will run the track beast as I have BIG fears over the rear diffs ability to deal with the new found powerplant and giving it abuse off the line is not going to help!
Prob come along either way as its a great day out, could always use the runs for mapping
DG
Hahaha yeah I no the feeling, exactly what happend to me at last years POD day, had a ticket but didn't run as my car decided to throw a fit on the way
What sort of diff you running?
as your into the kit cars now, come and have a look at my dads as long as he brings it.. (that's got a YB turbo, 560bhp and weighs about 500kgs) very scary stuff...
Its running live rear axel but not the stronger atlas item cant remember what its from tbh
1st kit car type thing I have worked on tbh (well you could argue the VX220 was a posh kit car lol) and not sure why I never played about with them before.
In fact the year before at ND I only did a few laps in big steves as the car was broke just like to pay into the club out my own pocket I guess
Old school turbo power (a lot of it mind) can imagine traction is the one thing missing I love anything a bit different, especially if its silly quick
DG
Prob a sierra type 7 1/2 inch, mostly what kit cars tend to use as they are cheap and plenty around..
Good thing about kit cars is they are light so you don't need alot of power and they stick to the road like sh't to a blanket
My dad has had his dutton for most of my life tbh, used to has a lotus twin cam.. Then went silly and decided to do a full tube chassis with YB power.. Traction is good of the line tbh (1.3 60'), but it's setup for drag racing, so you'd expect it.. Only really has problems mid track, mainly due to changing gear.. Suspension unload's and upsets the car..
All being well i will be attending and running, Unless my mrs goes into labour she's due pretty much around that time
Just this weekend finished putting the lump i have re-built in, got to get it tax'ed mot'd and insured and try and get some miles on it beforehand going to try my hardest to not still be putting it back toghether at 3am the night/morning before like last year
Im coming down! Hope this time to chat to some of u guys!!
Going to be removing a few bits off the car, Having it rolling road set up with a few more mods and a side exit set up! Also some new front wheels running sexy slickssss!
After a great time at ND I'll be at the pod. Hopefully get around to meet people I missed at ND.
Have we got the fenced car park area again?
As i had a slight issue with the engine on the 5 at Nat Day, can i bring my motorbike to Pod? I seem to remember afew bikes at the rtoc day afew years ago??? Thanks
I didn't know Renault did slowpeds
I'm pretty sure that's OK
If i put a renault badge on the tank, does that count? ;-)
How much is it for spectators, thinking of bringing me mate along with me and have the missus and boy behind in the family car, think it would be best if i put a few tools in the boot to
Went into the shop to see about spectator tickets (Noticed its free!) then also saw that there were 36 units in stock.
Does that mean only 14 peole are going on the strip?
No, means 14 have bought in advance and shops been dead for a wee while which sucks. People have been PMing Clee to reserve tickets instead
Thats good then.
Was thinking of coming up as I missed Nat Day when I was in Canada and thought it wouldn't be worth it for only a few cars.
So we can buy on the day ??
As you say with the site the way it is using anything on it sucks but I may like to have a few runs still...
It's ok, just seen I can buy on the day on Facebook..

I'll be buying a Strip pass on the day for sure!!
Got to give the 11 some schtik!
I have just realised that my tickets havn't arrived, i purchased them on tuesday and i did put in the notes that i was happy to pick them up on the day but could someone let me know either way, as i wasn't sure they would make it postage wise
Can anybody shead some light on the situation for me?
how many tickets have sold?
I was coming up to watch and mingle but due to work i cannot attend now hope the weathers good and everyone has a good time
any tickets left as i forgot to get one thanks glenn
No way of getting out of work so have to miss this years
Weather looks good for it also in sunny Solhull
Hope its a great day
DG
Good day, looks like a few pb's on the boards...
Turbo ted with 11:4 & 122mph. Before he lost 2nd & 4th
Glenn 11.06 iirc so close to a 10
Scoff running mid to low 10's best 10.2 I think before glenn broke both his shafts
Dave reed broke the external gate pipe off his manifold early on unfortunaly after just a few runs
A few other quick cars as well ranging frrom r5's with c1j's, f7p & f4r, clio turbos, scooby, evo, adam pulling. A high 12 in his s15..
ai was a corker of a day!
i wasnt going to come but mate dan twisted my arm into it and was good doo!
i managed to squeeze a 12.3@117mph out the clio, not bad for road tyres ;-)
cheers mate, made up for the poor show at mallory with the poorly car that day
Considering me going was a last minute decesion I really enjoyed the day. I think it was my first time at Pod since the last Nat Day there 6 years ago.
Great to see all the old faces and a couple I spoke to but couldn't remember who they were. (Getting old, memory goes first)
Thanks to Rob and Coops for the chat about their F7 installs and power achieved etc both cars looking and going really well.
Might actually give me the incentive to get a proper car back on the road instead of turning up in the Clio Turbo D.
very impressive times there,
so has scoff beaten his old record then hitting a 10.2?
and i take it glenn has beaten his record?
what spec is robbie running ?
First post!
Great day people, me and all my mates really enjoyed the weather, track time and the fact that we never broke anything which stopped us getting home! Managed to run a 13.08 @ 110 which were very happy about concidering it's our second time on the strip! Can't wait till the next one! Great work boys, thanks
Good day, really enjoyed it once I'd worked out why 1st gear wasn't working properly. Glenn had a go in my car and managed a full 2" of track, sheering the outer cv's off both driveshafts in the launch ! It snapped the shafts right off just before the cv spider. Just got back with the car, Mike phase 1 VERY kindly donated a pair of good GT shafts to the cause so I'll get the new outers on my existing shafts and be back at pod for racing on Sunday.
Glenn ran 4 (yes, 4!) 11.0 's ! It was like watching action replay ! 11.0@128, 11.0@128, 11.0@....... Just couldn't quite scrape a 10, but he's there all weekend and with the better track @ ESC he should do it I hope.
Well done to everyone else who set pb's, really good to see everyone having a good day
4????????????? so so close, he must of been trying alsorts to get an extra tenth
+I know no one cares about my car but I did a pb on road tyres of at 12.9 @ 113 on low boost. I saw Glenn's car run and that made great terminals, I'd be ****ed off with the times if I was him. I also saw Scoff's last run, and wondered why he was shifting into 4th (different box, duh!). Amazing time at 10.2 with 145mph terminal
I went up against Turbo Ted in one run and wondered why he was in my mirror, he ****ed his box, so a bit gutting. However he did run an 11.4 earlier, so contracts there.
I'm in the hotel as I post this, my bed is really comfy thanks
Had a good day some really quick cars there best car for me was the original mini what a noise it made when it came on boost, had to leave early to beat traffic and get some kip for my night shift that ive just finished.
Thanks to the guys that stopped at toddington to see why id broke down, if it wasnt for them id proburly be scratching me head for another 10mins before realising id not had me fuel pump turned on still a nice easy fix
A couple of piccies from the day.
A few more
& more
Well done dave reed so far today he pulled an 11.7 at I think 114 mph with no gas and a while ago he just ran an 11.4 at 120 mph well done that man I think he will go even quicker today as he has only used a small shot of gas
