As per request on my project thread I have done a rough list of parts needed for the turbo conversion into the R5 GTT, (please feel free to add bits to this thread like part number's, and any other bits I may have missed).
List of the parts that I can remember
- Decent / running clio or 19 16v - F7p (1.8 16v) or F7r (2.0 16v) engine,
- Low comp pistons 8.0:1 either by going forged or skim standard pistons down,
- Sump sealant (as I hate cork gaskets),
- Bottom end gasket set,
- Head gasket set (I used an OE style Mellior type),
- Head bolts can be purchased through RTOC shop (Edit : Non Stretch Type 12.9 from RTOC shop) I used stretch type from K-Tec,
- Cam belt kit,
- Phase 1 16v ECU with chip carrier for F7p conversion f7r will require williams ECU,
- Phase 1 16v engine loom with relays and brown and white plugs on for F7p conversion f7r will require williams loom,
- Phase 1 16v Low or High Boost fast chips chip for F7p conversion for Phase 1 ECU the f7r will require williams ECU,
- Renault 21 turbo 2 bar map sensor,
- Renault 21 turbo injectors 802 type,
- One way valve for brake system,
- One way valve for crankcase breather to inlet 8mm id,
- Fuel pump external either Bosch 044 or Walbro 255 type,
- Fuel lines from GTT sender to your external pump dependant on the size of inlet and outlet you got I went for 10mm id in and 10mm id out for the pump,
- Fuel line 1 meter 10mm id (you won't need the whole meter but you will have spare to trim down),
- Fuel lines 8mm id about 2.5 meter’s worth (this is from existing OE metal lines to the fuel rail inlet and return),
- 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator or adjustable type (don't get FSE one apparently **** from my research on valver forum),
- Turbo T25 or T28 dependant on boost chip running low or high,
- Oil feed and oil drain adapters,
- Drill and tap block for oil drain,
- K-Tec or BBPT Clio 1 down pipe (stainless steel) or if you can weld bodge your own,
- Turbo manifold can be found on ebay for abiut £90,
- GTX front engine metal mount (if you are lucky enough to source one) or drill R5GTT metal mount,
- GTX or Volvo alternator lower bracket and upper bracket,
- Alternator F7P or F7R,
- Starter motor F7P or F7R,
- Clio 16v Coil pack (looks like GTT AEI),
- Chargecooler or Intercooler setup,
- Coolant hoses,
- Clio 16v phase 1 radiator but you can use GTT radiator,
- Heat shield material for bulkhead to protect brake servo / cylinder,
- Clio 16v throttle cable,
- Throttle body gasket - 7700740706 £6.65inc VAT
- TDC sensor,
- Alternator belt that myself and Steve both used was a 4pk 825e from Halfords,
Service partsPlenty of cable solder and heat shrink or use blocks to start with so you know you have correct cables
- Spark plugs,
- HT leads,
- Dizzy cap and rotor arm,
- 5.1 Litres of engine oil,
- Oil filter,
- Antifreeze / Coolant,
Standalone ECU is the way to go with this conversion to be honest but there is a bloke on the valver and williams forum based in Oxford whom lives maps the standard or chipped ECU for about £200.00 and that is done on the roads not on a rolling road and once done on the road if you want he will stick it on the rollers also so you can see what it's doing
