Yep thats the one I picked up, cant believe how good the engine is, tis a credit to Jon and his hard work on the car!
James
Nice mate, Red always gives me the horn
Hi james, gets some miles on the engine then she'll be ready for some extra boost and carb rejetting. The turbo is good for 14psi any day and thanks for the comment.
nice car mate.. i think that front bumper could work witha standard grill and indicators that fit well ..

Cheers for the comments people, absolutely loving the car, what amuses me is last night my corsa c daily drive didnt like the cold and wasnt the best at starting. Yet R5 started first turn of the key!
James
Nice one m8, i know the feeling having brought my 1st one too. unfortunatly i didn't get a chance to drive it as i took it straight off the trailer and began stripping it!!
Some new pics from today!
Still enjoying the 5!
James
What a bargain. Top stuff, enjoy.

Same type of bumper was advertised on ebay as being a skeete one?
Seem to remember that was a wide body kit
James
It's a Skeete front bumper, I've got the same one.
They came as a std replacement and as part of their 'Dimma Style' wide arch kit. I think there early versions used rectangle spot/fog lights.
Well today I braved the cold and decided to put standard bumper on, heres a few pics of progress
James
Looks a load better
Cheers, was worth braving the cold!
Next task is to sort the interior out
James
What's up with the interior?
Nothing much up with the interior, just got to sort a stereo out, got my kenwood mask to install
James
Looks nice and tidy under the bumper, looks like you got a good one
Well another day of sorting stuff on the R5 stereo now sorted and fog lights all wired in! Also fitted a roof linning so cars all good now! (well as much as my budget will go) Have used campus doorcards but with turbo doorbins, will at a later date fit the door top covers (so they look like turbo ones) didnt want to wreck the turbo door cards ive got!
Pics of todays efforts lol
Cheers to MATTY J, I got a front grill for the R5,did a test fit today before I get it sprayed!
Also a few weeks ago I adjusted torsionbar to make the car an inch higher at the rear.
Its getting there now, looking very OE!
James
I really like the campus doorcards, adds some nice shiny red to the interior but looks nice and oe
Currently looking very sorry for its self as a few parts have gone for spraying! Hopefully will look great when there all back!

in that pic , u see that little scab, (bottom of the boot floor).. sort out that scab, pull back the under seal and clean it up .. check my thread as it will show you what happens when left..
Not good at all, and im no welder either!
Hopefully when back bumper comes off Iwont get a scary surprize!
James
it dosent look to bad to be fair mate, worth doing early though if you plan to keep the car.. just to add im no welder :P
Well plan is to keep R5 long term so looks like i will be buying some underseal and getting some sanding done.
Have had to replace boot because of the classic rot problem!
James
Pics of todays strip down, amnow in two minds what to do, do i just get the turbo kit resprayed as I had intended or do I do a full body overhaul?
looks like you got quite a solid example and working fogs???? lucky sod. like the oe grill too
Ai not a bad example needs a little bit of welding but nowt major - prob is I aint a welder, anyone any good with a welder? lol!
Trial fit of first parts backfrom the body shop
Also torsion bar adjusted abit more
Thanks to steve all my welding has been sorted - and I now have a rot free R5. Just a respray required now and its all sorted!
Glad the weldings sorted mate, Steve looked red as hell when he popped to mine tonight. Been s long day in the sun with a welder for him lol.
Didnt realise till this morning that Ive got caught by the sun as well! So steve must have been as red as his england top! Top class work he did as well, now ive undersealed the sill and arches you cannot tell where hes welded in the new plate!
Spent the day on the 5 today, started with following members advice on cleaning the VIP carpet then after it had dried started reassembling my interior, am well impressed with how it cam out! Just bodywork to sort now! Managed to get one wing on!
Looking good mate that carpets like new
Bit more progress, fitted proper speaker pods, and refitted speakers. Will fit series 2 doorcards back on to match rear quarters, so all interior will look totally oe!
Bit more progress today, fitted doorcards then decided that Id fit rims I got off Philg
Getting there now!
Nice work do you still need that bracket as my car is in bits
