    Re: Turbocharger inline oil filter

I have one fitted I bought from James5 although I can't remember the make of the filter but they all serve the same purpose.

I would of thought one of these would be a necessity to help prevent turbo damage, just imagine spending ££££ on a turbo for it to be ruined by some small swarf or debris a £40 filter could of saved.

Although I might be talking crap

I put one of these on my newly rebuilt c1j engine, you should of seen the amount of swarf it collected , granted i did my first oil change after 1500 miles, rebuilt the engine in the front room, on a black and decker workbench while plastering and painting in the front room! Anyways engine still going strong and so is the turbo.

Go to Thinkauto. They're the people who supply Tweeks, and they're cheaper

It's an old style Mocal filter from www.thinkauto.com and the braided line you have is Aeroquip.

Bens's braided line is just to long with the filter in place it's as if all they have done is cut the normal feed in 1/2 and stuck a mocal filter in the middle this then puts another 2" on the oil feed pipe's length and dependant on the type / size turbo you have puts a horrible kink in the feed.

I have one & I can confirm this, he's just cut a hose on half by the looks of it, no thought went into it at all, mine has to go toward the rad & then back over itself in a loop or I get a kink, I think I will get another made up soon as it's just

Just thought i'd add to this incase it helps people out! - I contacted Ben, told him i wanted an in-line filter, so he asked me to send him my hose (at my expense), 2 days later and at a charge of £30, this is what was delivered back to me!

He did say that this particular hose was rubber with the braided sleeving and not the Tefflon version that is of better quality - of which he can supply @ a further £25!.............can't comment on that, but all in all, very happy and thought it wasn't too expensive!

    Hope it helps anyway
