damn door decided it wont close
well , after having no probelms before, my passenger door has decided it will only close onto the first latch today, no matter how much slamming you do..
I presume its going to be the catch inside the door thats at fault, is this a common problem, and would i be right in saying replacing that is the solution

Re: damn door decided it wont close
it might be the pin on the door pillar has moved (the bit it locks on to ) loosen it an move it out a bit . my driver door had something similar, remove the lock clean it with carb cleaner or something cover it in oil, worked a treat for me

Re: damn door decided it wont close
Spray a load of wd40 into the latch and work it open/closed with a screwdriver, will sort it.

Re: damn door decided it wont close
As Brigsy said loads of wd40 and work the lock in and out and it will free it up, mine did this not to long back I'd gone and got a new lock and before I fitted It I tried It so i now have a spare.

its well worth actually taking the lock totally off an submerging it in degreaser, then fresh grease/oil etc (helps the solenoids to),you can do all this and it will help but id be looking at the door pins/hinge and the locater on the piller for wear and movement.
