    16v/Williams Rear Beam Adjustability

Is there any more adjustability on the 16v/Williams rear beam than on a GTT? Things like shimming as per 172/182?

I think they're dam near the same thing Woz?

They certainly don't look much different when I've crawled under both?

You know Renault & thier extensive use of the same parts

they are the same torsion bar design, the 172/182 have rear springs, and the 1*2 has a bolt on rear hub whereas the 16v clio has a pressed in spindle

Does the 172/182 beam fit the 5?

No it doesn't, I just wasn't sure about the Clio 1 beam. It would seam that a bit of fabrication is the only way to get some more adjustment?

    Thanks for the replies!

graft some 1*2 hubs onto the 5/clio1 trailing arms

That would make the most sense if you want to keep cost down knowing all parts will carry over and could probably use the ABS sensor too for speed pick up for a number of devices, such as traction control?

However that maybe missing an opportunity to add in something a bit better?

The clio 16V 'cup' beams has more toe out from the factory. They where a special batch for the championship. A chap was breaking his clio cup car on the cliowilliams forum, and may have the beam. Would be tricky to check it though without adding wheels and tracking guages.
Cant remember his name though. Search 'cup car bits' or something

Interesting info Sam, I'll bear that in mind.

Has anyone got a picture of the 1*2 rear stub axle set up to see how it's adjusted? Also, does anyone know the range of adjustment? Might be one for Cliosport?

it just bolts on, so you use tapered shims to adjust it (they're not cheap mind)
