track day insurence for national day

hi, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. basically i've spent the last 45 mins trying to find someone who will cover me for national day but all i'm getting is people who won't do it cos the vehicle is less then £10000, they just don't do it or they only do it as part of a 12 month policy which is no good.

does anybody kno a company that will cover me?

This is always a tricky one as most insurers aren't interested in one day events, or if they do it costs the earth. I have 12 days included with my policy, but it is a modified vehicle policy that covers the roll cage and the engine change etc. There is a company at Trax each year that insures you for the day, it may be worth looking on their website (http://www.traxshows.co.uk/track_time.html) or calling the organiser. Good luck.

If you do manage to get track insurance remember that most other cars won't have it, so check to see if you can still claim if hit by Somone who is uninsured.

just go out on track during the lunch break... that way no one else will hit you, but you will need to be carefull you dont crash yourself!

I'm not planning on going mad and thinking I'm lewis Hamilton, I'm probably going to annoy some people to start with as it's gonna be my first time on track so don't really want to push to hard and bin it, it's a long drive home!

Personally i intend to drive like a complete mad man Dont worry about the track, you are only ment to overtake on one side of the track, so if you wanna drive like miss daisy just stay on the other side of the track and all will be well Most have respect for each other anyway

    Try Richard Edgar Insurance 0115 985 0165 and Competition Car Insurance 0115 941 5255

They will only cover bodywork not mechanicals and there is a large excess so its only worthwhile if you are planning over £500 worth of damage.

Last time I did it is was about £50 for a days cover

Cheers russel, covered for bodywork, engine transmission and fire damage, feel a little happier now, hopefully I won't need it but it'll still work out cheaper if the worst should happen.

Was with Richard Edgar if anybody else needs it, quick and helpful done on the phone in under 5 mins!
