Sorry i am having a moment been away from the scene for a time and forgot the name of this pipe and its function, would one leaking cause any issues,, replaced elbow but when this went back it just did not to me seem like it sealed 100%.

If that pipe coming out of the elbow leaks then it would cause idling issues wouldnt it? As air would be leaking from the one way valve at that connection?

This is what i am thinking as i changed some parts and its now idling funny, can anyone confirm this?
Take the pipe off the elbow completely, block it up and start the car. If the engine idles fine then you had a poor connection at the elbow end!
OK thanks ill give that a try, if it does idle ok why do i not just keep it blocked and block the outlet on the turbo elbow?

Good idea mate. Mine never had it on there, instead had a silicone hose attached to the other breather pipes, there all gone and now i have a catch tank from the rocker cover
so what is the purpose of the pipe if you can remove it, like to know before i remove it.
I think it there for emissions purposes, at a guess its there to suck exhaust gasses into the combustion chambers?? Thats a guess, someone else will hopefully correct me!

OK so its part of the breather system then, what effect would this have on the breather system and does it effect the idle of the car if not sealed correctly?
Its part of the boost control system, not breather. Removing it is part of the "cup" mod.
