Bm was the original. Mb was the eBay copy cat version.

I bought one about 6 months ago, couldnt find the instructions and couldnt see how the lift reverse worked. Lobbed it back in the box and thats were its stayed so any info from them would be good

The B&M's any good on the R5? I had one for my RS Turbo and was awesome made a hell of a difference.

How do the copy ones compare to the B&M?

I heard back from them, but he wants to see the invoice as there are copys on the market that dont come with instructions . I dont have that either. Hope they will take mercy on me as it was over a year since i bought it.

they are good copies especilly for the price of £50. minor work needs to be done to the pin in the gearbox but other than that its a straight fit.

    Re: MB Short shifter

The mbcarperformance are normally of better quality than the b&m sshifter. There was some trouble with a guy who copied them and sold them on ebay cheap but the quality was also lesser. Like carcrash said it's an easy fit. Just the on the gearbox you need to grind a little.

    Re: MB Short shifter

You need to polish ball on the top of the pin a bit. Few minutes with sanding paper will do the trick. Also, I had some problems with second gear and had to take off bit of gear linkage eye (just where it is bolted to the pin) since it rubbed gearbox on bumpy roads.

    Re: MB Short shifter

Thanks for all the advice, it is very helpfull. The lift up reverse is confusing me a little. Off the car i cant see how it can work? Or will this all become apparent once its fitted? Thanks again.
