    Car covers

Ive been looking at car covers etc for my car when its restored, now mine sits in a garage but id like an out door the bollox car cover. This got me looking and in practical classic i saw this advert.

Now i know its not cheap but its tailerd to fit the 5 gt turbo and a whole jost of other renaults so maybe people would be interested so thought id post a link.
Other thing is its an extra 20 quid for an upgrade to storm force hmmm looks nice

    http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=273

The other option is a carcoon, im not sure which is best for me really

    Re: Car covers

If it's not going to be sitting outside then don't bother getting an outdoor one.

Some friends bought me a fitted garage cover for my Raider & it's brilliant, can't remember where it's from though?

If that's the case then go for it

MAKE SURE that you can tie it down to the car outside becasue you wouldn't believe the wind's ability to pull a car cover off

Im going to be looking for 2x car covers soon, one for the r5 and one for the 205. shame we cant get a group buy as i know theeres other people out there which would like to protect there cars paintwork. Not only that but i believe it puts people of snooping around them.

    Re: Car covers

I'd be interested in one (for the Evo) if there was a group buy.

Saying that, if there's enough interest, I don't mind contacting the company to see what bulk-order deals I could wangle...

    Re: Car covers

Car covers are always tricky. Ones that sit on the car can do alot of damage! If the car isn’t cleaned properly before you put it in, the cover can move back and forth and is there is a gain of dirt or sand you will be amazed at the scratches that can result from it. The only one I have found that this doesn’t happen is the “car cocoon”, but it is expensive.

indeed , would be nice to find what will suit the cars best.. Im guessing it needs to be able to breath etc to function well.

I seriously think a big group buy could come about of this so mabe its worth trying for a decent price.

£50 was it breathable? and was it a quality like we are seeing here? ive seen these in before on cars and find them very good.

Storm proof has 4 layers to it, in one of the adds it says pop it on a wet car and it will breath and dry the car with cover on lol thats good!

i bought a stormforce/monsoon (cant remember which) one and it started leaking after 2 months. paid 120 for it. it came with straps that connected under the car so no need to worry about tieing down still, very disappointed with it.

    Re: Car covers

Ian, that doesn't look very tailored.

I saw an advert in a mag the other week for a car cover/pop up garage along the same lines as those pop up/fold down tents that you can get now, im sure it was called a car tent, but when ive just googled it i got this-

http://www.geekologie.com/2007/06/car_tent.php There are some weirdos about!!

Ill take a look tonight see if i can find it again, it's the best car cover ive ever seen

    Re: Car covers

Just rang them, Really nice to deal with.

So the crack is (after some debating) If we get an order of 10 to i think he said 20 we would most prob get the covers at trade, as if we were a supplier.... so thats a great deal to start with

If we get over 20 we would get further discount, maybe the club shop could buy some? and sell via the shop.

Delivery is free but they all go to one location, not to big an issue i have time on my hands and ile find a cheap delivery

Does this sound ok to people?

    You geeza.

I've already checked the website, read the sales shpiel, and tried to view that p1ss poor small picture before.

I meant some half decent full-size pictures (note, in the plural sense), or maybe a sample to see what it is that we're actually buying.
