Cgb Really the cheapest for pistons and liners

I will soon be buying a set of pistons & liners plus rings. Gsf are £230 plus vat, cgb are £199 plus vat. It just strikes me as strange that cgb are the cheaper of the two.

Re: Cgb Really the cheapest for pistons and liners

Go to gsf and use your member discount- 20%. That'll make the cost of the liners £184. And the nice £46 discount makes your £25 membership fee look well worth it!!

Re: Cgb Really the cheapest for pistons and liners

I've been told that both the k-tec and cgb piston n liner sets are crappy quality. I got a set from Perfect Circle. Cost about €300, but better quality. I'd suggest to go for that...

I never get discount with GSF. Just look at me silly and ask " Is that some sort of club"

Re: Cgb Really the cheapest for pistons and liners

I once got to the point where I no longer needed to ask for discount at GSF.... Then I bought a Jap car and semi reliability hit and the discount was still expensive.... Actually, if anything, a jap turbo car was as cheap as a 5 to keep going, petrol was a bit more though.

Re: Cgb Really the cheapest for pistons and liners

Last piston and liner kit I bought from K-Tec were Komat which is a Turkish brand I believe. That was about 5 years ago, not had any issues yet, but my 5 has been off the road for 4 years.
