    Cam and L&B Flywheel

Thinking of getting these two items on my car as i feel these are the only things I could do to make it more responsive. Anyone recommend what cam I should go for, and is L&B the flywheel worth it, as in will i feel much of a difference with my setup?

I have a flywheel. I'm unsure of how much it's been lightened, I'll have to look in to it. I have heard you loose some torque with a Lighter Flywheel but I'm sure someone will know for sure.

Ive got the ctm/msm 9 slot flywheel, makes the engine rev a lot better, a worthy mod to do.

Its one of those jobs you combine with changing the clutch etc as its engine out. I didn't notice any loss of torque/idle probs.

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

machine shop lightnened my flywheel by about 25%/30%

Definately feels more responsive, you need a few more revs to pull off with any weight in the car but to be fair like with the old mini's these engines are fairly torquey anyway.

285 cam and a 9 slot MSM/CTM/Whoeverthephuk flywheel were two of the best mods I ever did.

    When it comes on boost,

I bet that was a right PITA though, the engine will come out leaving the box in though, no need to undo all the shafts then or drain the box...

Someone on the site *cough, Sparkie* cough* did an article on the old site on removing the cam with the engine in-situ.. never done it myself though till the other day, worked well, although i had the head removed & i think he did it with the head on, since you'll have to remove to fit the springs it's nay problemo
