Nope I wouldn't use them again for labour, timed my stock cams in wrong when theyveid a cambelt change, if ire guna look at track work after having somthing done have a look at a sc conversion. Stupid quick but drives like a big atmo engine so very track friendly

    Re: K-tec Racing

Whilst I was'nt dissatisfied with there turbo conversion, I found it frustrating that the figures weren't quite what was initially published. It does however drive really well and is more than enough to humble alot more expensive machinery. The rolling road operator did state that stock 1*2's only make between 155-165 on his rollers and that I had a genuine 40 bhp increase along with 40+ lbs/ft

It has been hard work trying to find out the exact spec of the components used though.

Basically the whole point of the low boost turbo conversion is as a stepping stone to the high boost conversion.

The thread that was refferred to above was a post that asked what the difference was between supercharged boost and turbo boost.

I agree with Adey and would consider the SC conversion as it seems incredibly good gains, but the prices have been released and your looking at 5K+ this is alot, and partially to do with the engine management and the fact you need to revert to a cable operated throttlebody.

There is another SC conversion being released soon which retains the standard ECU and obviously the price will reflect that, but they have'nt been released yet

The best thing to do would be drive them all and make a decision.

I'd expect the Omex sc to be closer to 4k than above 5k

    Re: K-tec Racing

ktec have always been good for me/

just little things like i got them to do a clutch and they tidyed and taped up my wires
and put a rubber sleeve on a pipe that was rubbing.
they didnt need to and i dont think any other garage would have.

they also let me leave my car there for a year while i was away working.

    Re: K-tec Racing

K-tec did everything on my 5 and I was very pleased with what they did. Customer service was also very good.

On the flip side though, at the time i had more money than sense and probably spend 4k more than I needed too! While their products are good the labour is very expensive.

Try and use the knowledge of the people on here and maybe ask if someone will help you. I wish I knew then what I know now...

Now you have the engine power you need the braking!-
Just look at our wheel pics of the 'vegetable wheel' Offering superior aerodynamics and increddible heat dissipation. These products will out perform any marks and spencer vegetable guarenteed. (This is not guarenteed)

    Re: K-tec Racing

rofl Check this out, that carrot on a stick link on ebay q & answrers...
Q: Hi im thinking about fitting one of theys before i go on a track and race my renault 5 gt turbo, but im worried the slower cars like the evo's scoobys,rx7's 911's etc will notice my carrot and make them go fast in order to get to my carrot and it could cause the only possible resone for me to lose the race, will this happen??07-May-09A: A good question! However seeing as the 5 engine was esentially developed in the late 50's the faster cars feel embarressed to go near the 5. carrot or no carrot you wont be bothered. The 5 will win no matter if its modded or not. regards
