    electric windows

    my passenger electric window is not working since ive put a new door on. its the motor which came with the door. im thinking that maybe i put a drivers side loom in the door. or maybe if i did would the window still work?

    the central locking works though so maybe im way off and its just the motor...

    cheers

    Re: electric windows

    Or if you want to check the motor do the following:

    * Get a car battery
    * Get two wires, preferably with crocodile clips on the end
    * Connect one end of each cable to the battery (obviously one on positive and one on negative)
    * Connect the other end to the terminals on the motor (once again, one on each terminal)
    * If the window is going the wrong way, switch the cable at EITHER the battery end, or on the motor

    If that makes sense?

    lol what, I dont know whats on your mind but i'm afraid not.

    You connect it up and it a probe/tester can provide 12v or an earth, good for testing electrics and fault diagnostics.

    Seems like you got no power reaching the window motor, try tracing the wires back to find a fault ?

    Have you checked the fuses? Either that or possibly damaged wiring, or a damaged switch?

    i still havent sorted my passenger side window. ive noticed though when i have my lights on the light in the switch for the passenger window is alot dimmer then the drivers side.

    anyone have any idea why this would be? and cause this be linked to why the motor is not working? cheers

    Under the glove box, your find the fuse box. The lid should show you which fuse is which. I think the windows are a 25 amp fuse?
