    bhp estamate

    lightly modified c1j,

it has been rejetted to suit 18/20psi, forge dv and properly flowed oem i/c and running 14psi by the means of turning the acuater arm rod inwards 5 turns

im wondering what would be a estamate on bhp? 130

am i dreaming? or under estamating?

im hoping to get a group of kent lads and head down ashford RR on 2nd 3rd may?

With 18psi and decnt fueling you should be seeing anywhere from 160-180psi...

RR day looks interesting, if you want me to look into it i will happily do so.

    Re: bhp estamate

my little 5 did a 15.6 q/m with 12psi, air filter and a sidey on toyo r888's... i forget the top speed but i was said 130bhp was about right for that..

my old 5 was r/roaded at 140bhp at a 15psi many moons ago at bbt..

only way to find out it get it on the r/r or q/m, we all might guess 130/140 but it might run like dog sh*t..

Pretty much, I had a T2 turbo running 14psi, a strapped intercooler, dump valve, panel filter and 2" system and it made 150bhp and 166ft lb of torque on half a dozen different dynos

says on your profile you have a t2 turbo matey!? wont you need a bigger turbo to run 18/20psi boost?? think most only manage 15psi on a standard t2 or you just stickin at 14!?.

    Re: bhp estamate

well dint knkow were that spung from but when i put on a free (given) manual boost controler, which i was soon to find out why it was free.. i had it on its lowest setting bang 26psi i kinda took it of sharpest , thought is do some fiddling with the spring and cut it down to reduce the resisatance on the ball and spring that still managed 22psi!!

when like $h1t of hot shovel but im not realy wanting to keep my turbo for 5 minutes!!

any way, what bhp is a punto gtt?

    Re: bhp estamate

I think what Blick is saying is that a T2 would be able to make high pressure like that, but not for too long. And it won't be efficient, it'll be blowing hot air which is not too good.

    Re: bhp estamate

yer i see what you mean, well 14/15psi is good enoth for me, eats most cars, plus my mate in a punto gtt gave it all the talk and then proceded to thrashing him to 70 on a duel carrage way

    Re: bhp estamate

i have a punto GT1, 136 bhp standard, Seb0 chip fitted and a big turbo its producing about 160 bhp @ 17 psi. Great in a straight line, sh~t on corners and very laggy.

My R5 cab has a T2/T25 turbo, 270 cam and is running about 14psi.

At mallory park last year there was nothing between them on the straight but the 5 just drove away on the corners

Punto GT2/GT3 are 130bhp standard. Punto's are very laggy until on boost so a 5 with a T2 will always beat a punto from a standing position.

I recon your 5 is proberly producing 135/140 bhp. Not alot more with a T2.

i thout puntos were 170, tho i dont know much about puntos
yer 140/5 could well be as it feels as quick as a corrola gti 16 i had and that dyno 144bhp,
i need to get engine mounts sorted first before any rr,

so say the rollers, that was with a small back end t25. Switched to a bbt28 with. .49 rear and it made 176@17psi cranked it up to 24psi and hit 208bhp and 216lbft before emoting the carb at 5500rpm. Hopfully getting that issue fixed this weekend and will see if I can crack 104+ mph at pod:-D
