I have finally got my car to idle properly tonight many thanks to 5teve L for the carb.
Now after taking the car for a good run tonight I seem to be getting a really weird squeking noise from the engine bay on the passeneger side like a bolt or metal is rubbing which causing the squeak. I have checked all bolts and none are loose, anybody got any ideas??
Just retrace everything you've touched first. May be unrelated though, you know what these things are like!
Not the belt stop on the water pump below the degassing chamber is it?

I had a noise like that turned out to be the release bearing.
Release bearing is on it way out as that has got a noise, I think i may have sussed it now the engine and exhaust has all cooled down. Been out in the dark with a torch looks like the D/P bolts thread has split this could be a the problem becuase if I rock it hard to squeaks like the noise i hear when driving.
