    Gear lever/selector rod spring

    As titled

I am looking for the spring which attaches to the underside of the floor which helps centre the gear stick. Either a part No: (if still available) or a good condition used item.

I also recall that there is maybe another spring mechanism fitted to volvo boxes to aid the vertical (gears 1/3/5) return to centre?........ would anyone know about that, or where I could find one?

    Renault 7701468199 - SPRING G/SHAFT 7701468199
    1 £11.76 GBP <- from Endon +VAT + P&P = about 18 quid

Maybe cheaper from your friendly stealer...

    Re: Gear lever/selector rod spring

    Hi gents, see here:
    https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthrea...-Manual-Speeds

Is 23 (77 01 468 199) a kit? Is number 29 (77 01 682 605) the spring on its own?? If so, it might be a fair bit cheaper. Perhaps worth checking both numbers. Let us know Tubby and I'll update the Dialogys section.

Thanks Trev, thats excellent................................. I did look in the Diologies last night but completley overlooked that section - I was focussed on the gearbox section

I will give my local Renault a ring later on if I get a few minutes and update

    Re: Gear lever/selector rod spring

The number I gave is the complete kit. It has a much stronger plastic (nylon?) piece
that fits at the rod end.

Replacement of the broken gear stick return spring...

New spring and proper clips fitted (not cheap @18 quid!) The hole in the
bodywork where the outer clip fits was found to be in good fettle.

    The broken spring...

    Re: Gear lever/selector rod spring

    Thanks for all the input.

I have just collected part no's 22 & 24 from my local renault. What I and the parts guy didn't realise is that the spring kit comes complete with the bracket. So I have a spare going if anyone needs one

    V cool

On looking again the bracket does show in the kit pic. No harm having a spare though!

I love the throw and feel of the GTT gear-change and having these bits replaced will really help

All fitted now.... Im amazed the difference it makes to the feel. Nice and smooth with a b&m shifter.

Still hunting for the volvo box part if anyone has access to a Haynes or part no for that?
