    Re: Clio V6 Ph1 2002 £12,000

I am selling my Phase 1 2002 Clio 3.0 V6. One of only 223 Iceberg Silver phase 1's registered in the UK. I have owned this car since September 2006 where I bought it from an independent performance and prestige car garage with 19,000 miles on the clock. It had a full service history with Renault and I have continued the service history with my Renault dealership and serviced and maintained the Clio to EXACTLY as the service schedule specifies. All the services carried out on this car, besides the modifications (which I will come onto later) is genuine Renault and the book is FULLY filled out and stamped. I believe it would be insane for someone not to do so with such an iconic car or use a well trusted specialist. I have added up all my service history for servicing/maintaining and modifications/improvements I have done to my pride and joy (and I really do mean pride and joy) and it equates to in excess of £11,000 and that is in the space of taking the mileage from 19,000 miles to 29,000 miles. What ever this car has wanted and whatever it has needed this car has had, what ever the service book says, it has been done, when it should. It really has been maintained regardless of cost and has been cleaned, polished, waxed and supagarded interior ALL its life and has been garaged and only used in the summer months for ALL my ownership of this fine example. The all important cambelt service is required every 5 years or 72,000 miles, which ever comes first, so naturally with the mileage being so low due to only summer leisure miles, my car, as with all phase 1 Clio V6's, now has had its second cambelt and timing kit change on her 10th birthday. Servicing is required every 2 years or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, so again my Clio has always been to Renault every 2 years for its service.

Don't think this car is highly strung due to my service history (I save every invoice in relation to the car) but I will say it is not a cheap car to own or maintain by any stretch of the imagination... but it is most certainly worth it as with most rare classic cars. As I am sure you have read before it is more like owning and driving a supercar rather than a hot hatchback, and the Renault parts and service schedule is no exception to that rule.

For the nitty gritty about the car now. I have covered 10,000 miles in 8 years, I am the fourth owner (from the fourth year of its life) the car drives so tight, solid and as good today as the day I bought it. NO rattles, squeaks or faults with anything. Mechanically A1. The modifications are simply the 'bolt-on' modifications Piper cross Viper induction kit, Janspeed exhaust manifolds with Janspeed high flow sports cats (pass mots), a custom made one-off 'stealth' (like the original 172) back box which quite simply gives the car the best sound I have heard from one of these beautiful engines. It is a short, light exhaust and not deafening in the cockpit like some other exhausts out there and from a performance point the car dyno'd at 233.9 bhp with 247.1ft.lbs torque. I made the back end diffuser part of the bumper look very unique to accommodate this and a plaque covers the holes where the original tail pipes poke out. I am very impressed with it and I believe it is a definite improvement from standard and all the power the car needs...it is a right handful and needs to be driven with respect or else, well we all know why it is a group 20 car to insure. To improve the cars stability especially at speed I bought the KW 3 way variant coilovers for the car which is the best suspension kit available off the shelf for the Clio V6's and I do honestly believe that anyone in the right mind would never remove these from the car...they are that good, and raising and dropping the ride height is very easy to do and I have the tools that come with the kit to do this. I have raised the car myself to avoid rubbing with the 225mm front tyres so a alignment would be in order again in my opinion. I have kept every single O.E part, nut, bolt and washer from this Clio that has ever been removed so one day, if the owner wishes, the car can be put back to 100% standard O.E. I have the original 17" O.E Renault OZ super Tourismo wheels and I have recently purchased a complete set of brand new 18" O.E Renault OZ Super Tourismo wheels and Falken tyres which I have fitted to the the car with 20mm Eibach spacers on the rear. These are exclusive wheels for this car, to obtain the standard spec rims in 17's or 18" wheels these would have to be made. Again very easy to put this back to standard set up if you wish and ALL the parts are with the car and in the sale. The interior is A1, the seat covers NEVER come off and the interior plastics, well everything is brand new...except of course the gloss flaking off the steering wheel which is common on all the phase 1's and like the melting can happen to the phase 2 steering wheels. I have a folder full of EVERYTHING, ALL the owners handbooks and keys, RAC trackstar is fitted as standard and can be activated with a single phone call. The car was re-mapped and then I have put it back to the standard map at my last Renault service as I believe the basic re-map didn't do anything except make the car excessively burble on over-run! It sounds good enough with out the excessive burbling!

Now all I have to say is the final point.. and weather you think it is a good or a bad point, it is up to you. I have NEVER had this car PAINTED ever. The car has the usual stone chips on the front end and wear and tear which is as to be expected with a low mileage 12 year old car and with being naturally so low compared to a normal Clio Sport and with the body kit etc....You could say it keeps the car honest and usable. The paint really is in such excellent condition all over the car. It can add to the character of the car and the sign of how well looked after it is in years to come with it never having being painted. I am very torn as to weather to take it to a body shop or I feel I have reflected this in the price and so I am open to sensible offers.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions please call any time on 07815 931215, Richard.

I doubt it will be a resizing issue. Here are the upload rules (and I assume you are trying to upload jpgs):

"Maximum File Size per Picture 2.86 MB
Maximum Picture Dimensions 1,200 by 900 Pixels
Pictures will be automatically resized to fit within these constraints if possible. However, you may receive better results by doing it manually."

Are the pics too large in terms of Mb's? If so, open each one in MS paint on your pc and save them as lower quality jpgs and then try again.

Or get a photo bucket account and do it that way. I have always found it quite easy using that method.

I am using a tablet so I don't have paint to play around with them. Advert with pics is on piston heads and auto trader.

    Paint app for your tablet:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....ddupre.tablet

Weird. The PH link was the right one to begin with.
