    Acelorator cable help!

    Just brought a replacement cable and the tab you get to go on th end I haven't a foggiest how to attach to the cable it's a grey rod about inch and a half two inch long, does it have to be crimped or welded soulderd in? Any help guys please many thanks

    I crimped mine in with a pair of pliers, it's been fine for 2 years plus

    I think any method will work just as good, there isn't actually that much force on the cable really.

    The new Renault kit crimps some of the older aftermarket ones braze / solder

    I filled mine with solder, then used the tip of the iron to heat the outside of the tab and melt the solder then just pushed the cable in an held it till solder had cooled.

    Tryed to crimp it no joy, then decided to heat with blow torch then drop a bit of solder in but I figured out that the clip needs melting with the cable in no solder required, but messed the clip up finding this out! So buy a whole kit just for this end peice, cheers guys
