    Cleaning sump

    Hello,

is it posible to remove the sump while engine in the car?

As the car was parked for 4 years, was thinking before new oil and filter is fited, maybe to clean the sump...?

    Thanks,

It is possible but can be tight getting it past the subframe.
Some persuasion or a slight bend on the subframe lip helps from memory.

I would just drain the oil out, run the engine up to temp with cheap mineral oil and drain, change filter and fill with decent oil. No need to take sump off.

I'd also add crank the engine over with the ht king lead off to get oil flowing around and oil pressure up before starting it

same here, just drain and refill, sump is super easy to remove though, just remove the bottom flywheel cover and steady bar, undo all the bolts and pry it off!!

but if its not leaking it can be hard to seal it up again,so best leave it on.
