Had the 9 on the rollers today!

    And i'm pleasantly surprised!

Expected something like 250-280 bhp but it turned out to be 300 atw @ 0,9bar

And with a measured 10% drive loss turns out to be 330bhp atf:

Needless to say i'm more then happy with the result!

Although it could use some more timing around 4000rpm but for a first time hometuned car i think there's nothing to complain about!

    Time for more boost

There are 8 less things to drop into the engine.

Damn, good results then fella, also annoying for me as our specs are very similar and I'm 50bhp down

Correct the list if I'm wrong but you've got

    F7r Williams 2.0ltr
    Williams cams
    Log manifold
    Gt3071r-wg
    3" turbo back exhaust
    Charge cooler
    Forged rods and pistons
    0.9bar of boost
    330bhp at the fly

    Mine
    F7r megane 2.0ltr
    Megane cams
    Log manifold
    Gt3071r
    2.5" turbo back exhaust
    Charge cooler
    Forged rods and pistons
    1.0bar of boost
    284bhp at the fly

Those megane cams are killing me I'm sure

Are they that different in terms of lift and duration?

Re: Had the 9 on the rollers today!

Iirc meggy cams are exactly the same as 16v cams,
So for F7P it is 268/261 with 9.28/8.54 lift and for F7R it is 274/264 with 9.87/9.25 lift.

Don't mind the duration as it's probably measured at 0 lift but the total lobe hight is correct as i've measured them myself too.

However don't be mislead by a dyno printout, who says the dyno i used is correct?
Could wel be 300bhp but then still you miss a few horses.

My ignition isn't tuned btw and it's running pretty rich so could well be i'm able to gain a bit more on the same boost.

What ignition are you running? I'm having some misfire issues atm....

Now that's interesting, I've measured my megane cams and a set of 16v cams and the megane jobs have way more duration and half a mm less lift on the inlet cam.

I'm using a wasted spark coil pack.

    Not necessarily.

It may simply be that you love man balls in your face?

    (chin)

anyway, it aint the cams as I said the other day, all that will do is shift the power band/spool up or down the rev range slightly, your still strangling the exhaust gasses with that .57 housing /60mm wheel all though I wonder if the willy head with the bigger ports is /better than smaller ports of the f7r megane head, for outright flow
and all rolling roads figures vary
    great results btw tutur

I will get on with mine again once I have refurbed my house, I miss my Renault
