    Re: fitting rev limiter

People normally just fix them in the scuttle area mate! Although there plenty of space in the cowling area under the steering wheel buddy, so easier for when setting the limiter and sorting the wiring for the clutch switch to, so I guess ignore what I've first said and fit it round there instead.

    Re: fitting rev limiter

I had mine fitted by Thundercat off here.
He made me a bracket and mounted it like the pic below.

Regards to fitting you need to connect the wires off the limiter to the + & - of the coil and then earth the unit to good clean metal.
The Aei module needs to come out for proper fitting as does the coil.
Another hole also needs to be drilled through the plastic aei casing to gain access to one of the coil connections.

You should have instructions? Or is this used item?

Anyway, the launch switch works the same way as the brake light pedal switch.

Your need to drill a hole for it I think, so the switch isn't tripped when the clutch pedal is press there fore actives the limiter, so when you let off the clutch pedal, it comes up and presses the switch (same as brake light switch as already stated.) which then shuts off the limiter and away you go.

It will make more sense when you get the kit out and look at it.

    Re: fitting rev limiter

Basically take the coil from its 'cradle' which is the AEI unit itself (a couple of tiny, but long torx I seem to remember) this exposes the coil connections that you connect the rev limiter to.

I used couple bullet connectors on the front of the AEI, just above where the tdc plugs in. Have to strip bit of the plastic away for the connector to slide in.

    Re208 is phase 1, Re209 is phase 2.
No real difference apart from a 500rpm difference in limit.

You got to cut some of the plastic away to get to the pins and connect the red/blue wires with the red bullett connector. I used a ring connector for the earth/black wire.

    Re: fitting rev limiter

You have 3 wires from the limiter, red ,blue and black. connect these as the picture.

My TDC plug is out because I'm working on car. That will get plugged back in or the car cant run.

Go through the setting up proccess from here, making sure you set it to four cylinders.

I set mine to 1000rpm to make sure it worked, then raised it to my max.

Ignition on, (dont start engine) it will only light up when you push both buttons tigether to set the limit. Then you + - to desired limit. turn ignition off or start engine.
