Been working on power steering pump bracket mount today. Not finished yet, just needs a few little touches here and there then good for powder coating.

It clamps round the vibration rubber mounts. Its pretty good as it is, but I will be adding more rubber to the clamping part of the pump never the less.

Made it so it fits in and bolts directly to the drivers side battery location slots and bolt hole.

Surely the bonnet wont close now with the ps pump container sitting so high? I have mine almost the same, slightly different fluid container setup but I had to cut down the fluid pipe and make a smaller pot.

It's actually very easy and straight forward yes. I'm running a heavier engine than a C1J and as I want this to be a car that can cope with day to day driving if needs be, then the power steering mod is a must.

Plus this is just one of many modernising details touches that you guys will be seeing as this build thread progresses.

Good spot buddy! But as mention, its not finished yet.

The max line on the fluid section is really low, nearly on par with the top of the barrel, I will be cutting out a section and plastic weld the top screw part back on lower to over come that.

Got a spare subframe from a car being broke, got to work on it as already had the front rad section cut off.

First started on adding strength to it by making the front engine mount section box'd but left an opening so that can access the thread and nut of the mounts.

Oh, and box sectioned the angle bar to that run the length of the front as well.

Then set onto seam welding and adding in a gusset to the front cross bar to help clear the larger rad I'm fitting.

    Top side.

Got my power steering rack out to check fitment etc now I got my brackets off Matt @codered. (cheers buddy. )

Found a problem straight away, some reason it didn't clear properly round the barrel part, was a little to close for my liking, so cut out a section and added a gusset in.

Re: RTOC Slag, Full non O.E. rebirth of H154 TGO.

Subframe bolted to the car for test fit with gearbox and uprated V8 rear mount to check for any clearance faults and found a problem, the rubber mount was where the power steering pipes run, so back out, drilled two new holes in the brackets rather than trimming the rubber part so the rubber vibration section sat 10mm higher and now all fits treat.

Whilst it was in, got my spare oversize radiator out for test fitting, trimmed the top cross member to the shape of it so it will slot in and go as far forward as possible to give me maximum engine bay space.

Subframe isn't finished yet, additional front strengthening will be added once its back off the car as everything at test fit stage with my engine and box in at the moment, getting very close now, watch this space.

Needed a new header tank bracket, so knocked this one up today.

Chopped up some steal, added a bit bending and a few cuts.

It bolts to the inner wing in the scuttle area. Just need to get a new strap and have it powder coated with the rest of my other bits I've got building up.

Re: RTOC Slag, Full non O.E. rebirth of H154 TGO.

I've opened up the end lower slats, added sneaky slots into the bottom of the number plate area if you look closely and under the original vents on the bottom.

Then got my number plate and trim that down, so now I've got nearly 50% more air flow to my front mount intercooler.

Also, as my oil cooler so big, only half of it was in direct air flow via the grill, so cut some slots in for that. I may change that part though as I need to fix the cracks that was already there, so might add some back in whilst I'm doing that and try make that bit more discreet.

But this is how it stands now.

I guess it doesn't matter but it looks like the necks on that oil catch tank have some filings in them that could be cleaned out
