Forever no brakes ?

Hello guys.

I'm forever having problem with my brakes. I've changed my master cylinder a couple times. My servo also. Bled for endless time and always the same problem.. No brakes, there's a pedal when car off then u go for a drive the pedal goes to the floor. Last week it was going to the floor and braking evenly. (Fronts anyways) yesterday I took it out and pedal went right down and now only front left wheel brakes. I guessed might be a mc failure again so swapped it for one I had lying about. Bled system and was struggling to get fluid to the rear. ( even holding compensator open ) then I tried again manually and when pressing my foot down on release the pedal was sticking half way up? I sort of lost the plot there and had to have a break.

Also my car started hunting when I was pumping pedal with car on. Normal or not I don't know but checked the one way valve and was working fine.

On the verge of giving up with this car after a long battle.

Also I noticed a slight seeping of fluid on the valve of the compensator is that enough to cause this horror?

Can anyone help?

Are you bleeding them in order given in haynes manual mate. could it be the compensater at fault?

I'm bleeding them advised by a couple of rtoc members. Also used the search panel which brings back the same answer mate.

Start from furthest away from mc and end up on drivers side. Also wedging open compensator whilst bleeding rears.

I had the same as you mate thats all i did mine as per haynes manual and worked first time i cant reamember what way the haynes said probably the same as the other members told you

Try a pressure bleeding kit. If that doesnt work try a new mastercylinder.

Also check for wheel bearing play. Any play in the bearing pushes your pads back out so you effectoively have to pump your pedal like you've just changed your pads. This also makes the pedal grab the disc on side with no play and can pull to one side or even lock one front if it's a fron bearing.

Right bled them again in that order feels like I have a pedal but when I drive it only front left calliper responds? I want to pull my hair out ! Lol

Master cylinder. My gtt failed this way when bleeding. Buy a brand new one, 20 yr old seals are prob well past there best.

When I bled it manually when bleeding the front right and rear left the pedal only goes half way down? This normal
