sorry to hijack, I was thinking this to, although mine doesn't look OE Renault, and don't have a remote etc, just a little plastic bit that is next to ignition barrel and I have to put it in there to un immobilise it

    Not sure mate
If you do cut it out and you're only going to bin it i'll have it off you to use as a dummy in my bay, with it being a Renault part an all that
Either way get a decent Thatcham approved alarm fitted in its place

Hi all got a brand new renault upgrade alarm in box never fitted. Bought of ebay many years ago with no fitting instructions and apparently works of the original key-fob when installed. Any use!

In original Renault box, key switch located on a different side of alarm, Renault written on siren face, two keys and full loom kit. Just no instructions.

    Re: standerd renault alarm

You could fit a new alarm and get the your old siren box fitted with new siren internals. Done this a few times, confuses the bods who fit the alarms when they see a moss siren box with clifford install lol

If you're removing yours chris ill just take that please
Seems silly splitting and using a boxed possibly fully working set up as a dummy siren.

If you do snip all the wires for the alarm, try to remember where they came from, take pics, just incase the alarm wiring in some wonderfull way is needed.

Yep mine has this that runs alongside and separate to another alarm that tells (in a kinda Professor Hawking type voice) any scroat that gets close enough to bugger off.

mine had the serpi star alarm in mine and you had to swipe the small fob along a IR red light i knew that if you didnt then you can not of started the car at all, this worked the central alarm system also,THIS might of been a extra when renault sold there cars,OR it might just be the oe to the car.....this was my fob i had for my car

    https://www.rtoc.org/boards/picture.p...pictureid=7937

you might be able to find instructions the internet some where for wiring up the alarm???
    i guess

Yer I think mines separate aswell, im sure it just splices into the ignition wire? And could be the reason my starter motor clicks a few times before starting as the splice is probably 20 years old and is maybe building up abit of resistance there?

I don't have a key fob, just door lock and ignition lock keys. So the alarm bit in my engine bay is probably the remains of a alarm kit at some point and the fob has been lost along the way with its something like 7 previous owners lol

Also my central locking works, but not on the boot, I cant see any wires or solenoid etc to rear do no 5's have central locking on boot?

New starter, still the same, new connectors, still was not allways getting 12v down there, then replaced the whole trigger wire upto connector of doom, still not allways getting 12v, I think its the splice. I may fit the relay or just replace rest of wire

I had this on a truck at work if you wiggled the key in ignition barrel and occasionaly it worked so i replaced the barrel and its been perfect since
