I'm recoding a old "plip" for someone & found an old file that I did for the previous forum over 10yrs ogo.lol.

I've uploaded a pdf to the Technical Files section, under - Recoding an oe R5 Central Locking Plip

May come in handy for someone

Re: Recoding an oe R5 Remote Plip

Well my previous owners thought it would be good to de-lock the car including the boot and use the alarm plip to open the car. However the last but one owner wanted the car as a track car so didn't need an alarm and took the thing out. The last owner because he had no way of getting in when locked re-jigged the lock on the boot so it could be opened and central locking activated from reaching inside and lifting the drivers side latch but its not exactly the best practice especially with the amount of rain we are haivng.

So I bought this brand new (not reprogrammed) but was advertised as a 19 21 25 and Clio 1 unit. So I have two sqaurish small plips. Not like the old megane ones you see where the plip and key are one.

Oh forgot to say it also came with 2 sets of uncut original renault keys too.

They all fit inside the interior light unit and look no different to the oe one that was in there in the first place. Both plips work and it saves fumbling for a key.

    What a superb document.

Truly excellent work, that alone is worth a years membership fee.

The central locking doesn't work at all on my phase 2 but I do have one of the original plips for it so I'm hoping that I can get to the bottom of it without having to replace the receiver. If I do however, I'll be using this guide. Excellent work!
