    perk fan

    im doing my head gasket myself now as im fed up of waiting and now have a perk fan tha was in a box of spares that came with the car. shall i put it on or leav it off???

    ok fair enuf will take your advice on that. what are they used for and why is it better to run without it??? just curious and wanting to learn all aspects of my car.

    They were designed to cool the fuel in the line, to stop hot starting problems. They were fitted with a 15 amp fuse, but when they went wrong the wiring would burn out before the fuse would pop. Alot of the ones I have worked on I always change the fuse to a 7.5 amp. I would put it back if you like your car looking standard and original, as most people will recognise it is missing. If you don’t want the OE look sell it.
