    B18FT Rear engined RWD 5GTT -Coventry - £3250

Cover feature car built by Scoff of EFI Parts. Recently found by me, several years unused under a few layers of dust.

1721cc Volvo B18FT engine, recently replaced with a 64,000 miler.
    GT28R rollerbearing turbo.
Full E420c Adaptronic standalone engine management.
    Red Injectors.
    Uprated fuel pump.
All the usuals, filter, exhaust, leads, some shiny bits. Ally intercooler etc.
    Half cage, bolt in.
Recaro seats (Comes with both, drivers one not fitted yet) and one harness for driver.
    Uprated clutch
    Spax coilovers all round
    Rear strut brace
Yoko R888 tyres on Clio Turbines
    Delocked

I've changed the header tank to a Renault one otherwise the engine bay is the same as the other pics.

    More pics:

Good roof and scuttle, no rust.

    Bad points:

50p sized bit of rust on leading edge of bonnet

    Bottom of drivers door bubbling

Otherwise, pretty rust free and really good underneath for a five lol.

    Door cards scruffy

Few small paint defects, small chip on boot button and small chip on one of the sideskirts

Bottom of the tailpipe has scraped the floor

Clutch has a harsh bite point, takes some getting used to. I have removed the soft-pedal conversion but will include it in the sale.
Drivers window winder has been repaired but another would probably be best. If I were keeping it i'd replace the whole drivers door.
Throttle is stiff, but operational. I have bought a new steel belted sheath with teflon coated cable but not fitted yet.
Fuel tank is a bit of a horror, I have this to be mounted in the front

I will include it in the sale at asking price.

Car will come with full MOT, at asking price. Not MOT'd yet but I will before sale.
No tax but I can tax it if you wish, at your expense.

Car needs mapping. It was never mapped properly in the first place AFAIK.....so do NOT expect to be able to mash the throttle from the get-go. It does drive however, I have used it on the road with no issues. It idles a bit lumpy but I dont imagine thats too much to iron out.
Holds temperature fine (Fan is on a manual switch), doesnt overheat. Thermostat opens a little late (~90 degrees) so probably wouldnt hurt to replace it.

Please note that right now I do not have the V5 in my hands, however will happily hold car on a deposit until the V5 arrives.

Engine conversion is registered with DVLA so no sulky MOT man asking questions.

I'm selling it because I only bought it to save it from a dusty death, it's just not my 'thing'. I am an enthusiast (have a R9, R19, R21, Fuego and Clio of my own) but a tall one (6'6") and I simply dont fit in it very well. It doesnt suit my driving style either, and I don't like R5 interiors. ick. I just dont like it!

No test pilots, or timewasters please.

    £3250ono

    Call Dave on 07969 014585.
10% deposit required before car comes off-sale. Viewing available.
Visit www.21toc.com if you need a reference on my credibility

Will be going on eBay this weekend.

How does the car drive? Does it feel alright with no weight upfront?

May possibly be interested in this.

    Thanks

It was fine for the 10 (normal driving) miles I've done in it, but I haven't booted it as stated in the ad.

If i were keeping it i'd be sticking a paving slab or two and the fuel tank under the bonnet to balance it out though thats for sure.

It wasn't Wayne's car, and never has been.

I sourced a new engine for it (as stated in the ad) so no running issues.

I fail to see how he could do that, what with it not being his and all.

This car needs taking on by someone with time, intent and a bit of money.

I hope it doesn't go on Ebay because that's saving a car from a dusty death only to subject it to a lottery.

After mapping, what do you reckon the power potential of this engine would be in its current state of tune?

I'm not sure how many times I need to say this to make it clear to you. It's not his, Not it, or part of it. Yes thats his workshop, yes the car was there.

Probably 200 or so with a chargecooler (which it needs IMO). With a better cam, probably 230 or 240.

Maybe even fit a Turbo F4R in there. Huge horses then.....or why not stick a lump back in the front and run it twin engine.....

If I wasn't neck deep in what I'm doing with my S15 I'd have this, got the money aswell but nowhere to keep two silly cars. Awesome car for the money in my opinion!!! I personally consider the asking price cheap for what needs to be carried out to get it running compared to the build costs...

Considering i'll already have done everything for MOT and it's ready to drive to scoff for mapping, and there's a £200 stainless steel fuel tank included too, you'd have thought so.

Still, I never expected to be able to sell a Renault 5 to a club full of people who already own Renault 5's lol. eBay & Pistonheads it is!

Ahhhh - I remember this one. This is the one me n TNT Ross drove over 200 miles to pick up and the jock strap who was selling it didn't turn up. Ross struggled to get his deposit back for it n all.

Still doing the rounds I see.

Don't forget the lame excuse Andy ,that it had too much sentimental value and his mummy said he could never ever sell it . Only to wait 6 weeks for my 2k back and then find out the put it back up for sale. Worst thing was I sold my GTT to come up with the money so ended up car less lmao

Ashy is that the one that a member(previous member now?) called Ohms had converted? I think it was Ian Nixon converting the shell.

Didn't Ohms also have the white ph2 on 11,000 miles? Wheres that nowadays?

No idea. All I remember was that Bryn bought a Raider with 30k odd miles on the clock, got the fabrication done for a rear engine conversion, and then sold it to Bob. Well, that's if I remember correctly, as it was a few years ago now

Thought I would update this thread to say I am now the new owner of this car and I will be doing a thread shortly in the project section with pic's from past and present, it's not really a project thread but more of a photo record/ diary of this awesome car. So would be if peeps whom know the car in it's various states add pic's or youtube links or details of it to the thread I will be updating bit's as to what I do or have done to it / change.

And I will add it has already changed a fair bit from the pic's above
