bleeding brakes question

hi all.been trying to bleed the breaks on the 5 after changing both front callipers.
now iv managed to bleed passinger side but cand get any fluid at alk to the drivers.just air.

now iv not messed with the back ones but will these still need bleeding.

If you're there doing it you may as well change all the fluid and bleed them all, unless you know it has been changed recently anyway.

Ill give them a go.main thing is getting fluid to front caliper.iv tryed allsorts,a mate pumping peddel,a one man bleed kit and still nothing.

Master cylinder is probably dead. Mine failed on my tungy when bleeding the brakes, i dont think old cylinders like the full pedal travel when pumping.

Pressure bleed them.

How do i do that.if im honest i dont know what im doing and hate messing with brakes.been lookig at kits on ebay but dont know what to look for.

i hope its not master cylinder.there a pain in the ass to change.

Id take bets its the mastercylinder if no fluid is coming out and no pedal. Its not too bad to change tbh mate just use proper brake pipe spanners. Take you a couple of hours tops and your brakes will be so much better for it.

Looks like ill be changing it then.

can anybody just run through the correct way to bleed them.been told that many ways i dont know whats best.

I did it furthest first so left rear then right front the right rear then left front.. Worked ok for me..

First you'll be needing to fully open the rear brake compensator.
Then start from the furthest caliper away (so pass rear), then drivers rear, pass front and finally drivers front..

Give about 20 pumps per caliper, on the last pump, keep the brake pedal down whilst the bleed nipple is locked off. Make sure you keep the fluid topped up..

You'll need 2 people to carry out the above method.

I take it you placing the bleed tube in a small pot of brake fluid?

Pressure bleed them!

Pressurise the reservoir with about 15PSi, then open the bleed with the pedal up. While its flowing fluid through shock the MC and Caliper to dislodge any bubbles as best you can (bash it).

Dont move the pedal while you're bleeding.

Buy one of THESE and read the instructions.

Bleed as per the Haynes manual which is:

1st - LH Rear,
2nd - RH Front
3rd - RH Rear
4th - LH Front

Yup as Ash says Eezibleed kit you will have it done in no time, just make sure you fit the right cap or a nasty mess can happen.
