1991 - Cars only available in White & Tungsten

Just flicked through the 1991 Renault 5 brochure and noticed that only Glacier White and Tungsten were the only colours available to order.

    Bit of trivia for you!

very strange as i would have expected them to keep the best selling colours if they were reducing the range and i just cant see white being that popular, back in the day i seem to remember more red ones about than any other colour

Yep. I think the electric blue colour came origionally from the r5 turbo/2.

France also got tungsten and flat white ph1's with unpainted kit.

some say that the yellow and electric blue paints where applied thinner than other paints, hence why they rotten so badly....

My 1987 e reg ph1.5 is in lot better condition than my tungy j reg was.
Imo It's all about a caring owner who washes and maintains the car. Then location, as far away from the beach as possible.
