just to add, i thought std belts where 1175 in length.? i only say this as every bit counts when you havent got much room at all between the alternator and the block.

Great question...I need to free up some room between the alt for my intercooler pipe. Could a10x825 be used with no problems?

Could convert to electric water pump if you want loads of room. Not done it on any of my fives but have done it on an old track car. Only a thought!

    Re: alt. belt

I bought a 1138 and 1150 alt belt and neither of them will fit!! They are both too short to get round all 3 pulleys even with the alt pushed right up!

    Re: alt. belt

i ended up getting a small lower pulley of a campus as suggested and then got a belt from halfrauds. got an 'A1045' which worked out a treat. had to shave the alt arm down abot as the fan blades on the alt were catching.
