Re: Raider Restoration, Back to OE
Yeah going to be doing everything myself apart from paint, First job i think is to cut the front panel out where its had a knock before and replace can get whole new front panel for £127 will be less work then trying to straighten out the existing.
Once thats done and sort the small bits of rust on sills will start from the underside and work my way up going to replace every nut and bolt for new where possible

Re: Raider Restoration, Back to OE
Havn't got a set date to be finished, cant rush these things, just love the buzz seeing it come back to life, but once the front panel is back on and little bits of rust sorted thats the worse bit over in my opinion. will seal and treat the underside once thats done, strip the inside out and anything else left then the shell will be off to paint shop.

Re: Raider Restoration, Back to OE
Well with work commitments bringing the restore to a holt for the last month or so, managed a bit of time on her, nothing major just a bit more bodywork tidying up,finally managed to get battery tray out after removing almost entire dash, whoever decided to put two fixing nuts up behind the top of the dash for the tray needs poking in the eye!! with that out the way could repair and patch under the tray this hopefully will be the last of the welding dare i say it lol, seam sealed all the welding, and the time consuming job of removing all the pipe, wire and hose clips from the engine bay, last of the interior came out along with windows.Doors and boot decided not worth messing with so mike at gt turbo spares will be sorting me shortly with these, Spoke to my sprayer and going to take the shell to him in about 3-4 weeks so need to get windscreen removed and a last blast through with wire brush, decide weather to treat/paint under body before trip to paint shop or after as axle and subframe will be out once back from paint.
Couple more pics

Re: Raider Restoration, Back to OE
I found using double sided foam tape on the rear spoiler worked perfectly (assuming the lugs have been removed from the back of the spoiler). You couldn't tell by looking at it and it didn't budge 1mm in the time I owned it. Plus it means you can line the spoiler up exactly where you want it to sit. Note that I did this on a ph1, so the tailgate was flush/flat with no holes etc.

Can't wait to see the pics. Pearl is a lush colour.

Cheers Trev been meaning to try tape for a while but it's so cold in the shed I'd be wastin my time trying to get anything stuck, decals, rear spoiler and bumper strips, first warm day we get I will be on it though.
