Thumbs up Looking for my first R5 GTT

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Alright fellas, so the story goes I've been hooked on the R5 since my brother got one when I was 15 years old. Been to pod day 3 years on the bounce and have been itching to get my own. Looking for a nice car, to give some tlc too. If anyone knows of cars for sale which have not been posted in the classifieds give me a shout!

    Cheers Josh...

Hello fellas. Looking for something with an updated turbo T28 etc. Basically something tidy that doesn't need much work as I'm an amateur at the moment! No Mr B can't wait pal, like a excited child! Mike I had a word with you at pod and you told me to give you a shout when I was ready...

Oh, also I'm not bothered about phase 1 - 2 etc. Aslong as it's a tidy, quick motor. #boost

my advise would be dont stress about the tune/engine power etc.. that stuffs easy.. be more focused on getting a rot free (or as closs as possible) and straight shell.

These cars are perfect as a first stop to spanner throwing, and with the advise on here you wont go far wrong, however with rust and dints you are at the mercy of bodyshops which is a diffrent ball game.

That's true, I'm under good guidance with my brother. GTphil. My budget is quite good top end being 2500 so I am hoping to get both engine and a nice rott free shell. Fingers crossed...

Don't make the mistake i made and buy the first R5 you clap your eyes on be prepared to shop around a bit, there are some very tidy motors out there but also some real sheds. And remember rust kills

I second that take your time and Definatley take someone who has one.. Don't get caught up in the boost as you say.. I did and it's cost me.. But the good thing is it worked out good because they are easy to work on.. As previously stated take your time and look at the shell first. The engine is the easy bit.. Bodywork could break you..

    Well well,

You would have thought he would have steered well clear after seeing all the time effort and money that's gone into mine over the years

Seems strange my little bro on the hunt for a gtt.

One or two have tempted us that we can find for sale now but distance away and dubiouse adverts have put us off.

Only a real boost jedi can guide you properly and that i am certainly not.

You should take part ownership of my raider and we can do an engine conversion (with your cash) and turn it into a supercar slayer
