    What a proper ****e job!!!

    Rare weekend off, thought i'd spend some time with the 5 as I've got a few jobs to do. Top of the list was taking out the old battery tray as it wasn't looking too clever, and i'd seen some pics recently of some 5's with pretty big holes underneath............. so i wanted to get it out and see the damage. Anyway last time I took one out of my old 5s i remembered it to be an ok job....

    All i can say is i must have been a lot thinner and an amateur contortionist back then. First i pulled the carpet back and tried, then removed a few bits of trim, then the seat, then the whole carpet, centre console until i'b basically stripped the car out. Then laid on by back, mm by mm i eventually got it out. 6 hours

    I felt the need to share this, and the picture below, as a trophy

    On the plus side, even though the tray was knackered underneath was rosy

    Interesting, when I pulled my battery tray out I got at all the bolts from in scuttle area, are later 5 battery trays fitted differently?

    get some good old por 15 and some chassis black por paint on that and its good to go.. no need to replace.

    I have had it both directions, sometimes the nuts are under the dash and sometimes in the scuttle area
