    Removing wishbone bushes

    Hello,

I'm atempting to fit some poly bushes into brand new wishbones. Last time I did this I actually used a blow torch to burn the old bushes out which worked well. This time I don't really want to damage them too much even though I will get them powder coated.

So I've managed to get the metal sleeve out from the centre of the bush and I'm just left with the rubber outer which is being a bit of a pig to remove.

    Anyone got any useful tips?

    Cheers Ashy.

a socket and a vice or a press. have you removed the tack welds to remove the outers too?

those ones dont come with a metal outer, so i guess your right and will need to reuse your originals. i struggled without a press but ive overheard people say its possible with a vice and sockets.

Big socket and a vice works perfectly... Soften the new ones up In Boiling water before you fit them and they go in a lot easier.

You dont have the outers with them, like some other kits, i would do as dave suggests and cut the rubber from the inside out with a hacksaw.

Its going to be hard to remove the rubber without moving the outer in a press or vice i would think.

its really not hard to do at all, as mentioned socket and vice presses the whole lot out.

the bushes i fitted didnt require the outer metal sleeve.
