List of Parts needed for for F7p or F7r turbo conversion

As per request on my project thread I have done a rough list of parts needed for the turbo conversion into the R5 GTT, (please feel free to add bits to this thread like part number's, and any other bits I may have missed).

List of the parts that I can remember

    1. Decent / running clio or 19 16v - F7p (1.8 16v) or F7r (2.0 16v) engine,
    2. Low comp pistons 8.0:1 either by going forged or skim standard pistons down,
    3. Sump sealant (as I hate cork gaskets),
    4. Bottom end gasket set,
    5. Head gasket set (I used an OE style Mellior type),
    6. Head bolts can be purchased through RTOC shop (Edit : Non Stretch Type 12.9 from RTOC shop) I used stretch type from K-Tec,
    7. Cam belt kit,
    8. Phase 1 16v ECU with chip carrier for F7p conversion f7r will require williams ECU,
    9. Phase 1 16v engine loom with relays and brown and white plugs on for F7p conversion f7r will require williams loom,
    10. Phase 1 16v Low or High Boost fast chips chip for F7p conversion for Phase 1 ECU the f7r will require williams ECU,
    11. Renault 21 turbo 2 bar map sensor,
    12. Renault 21 turbo injectors 802 type,
    13. One way valve for brake system,
    14. One way valve for crankcase breather to inlet 8mm id,
    15. Fuel pump external either Bosch 044 or Walbro 255 type,
    16. Fuel lines from GTT sender to your external pump dependant on the size of inlet and outlet you got I went for 10mm id in and 10mm id out for the pump,
    17. Fuel line 1 meter 10mm id (you won't need the whole meter but you will have spare to trim down),
    18. Fuel lines 8mm id about 2.5 meter’s worth (this is from existing OE metal lines to the fuel rail inlet and return),
    19. 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator or adjustable type (don't get FSE one apparently **** from my research on valver forum),
    20. Turbo T25 or T28 dependant on boost chip running low or high,
    21. Oil feed and oil drain adapters,
    22. Drill and tap block for oil drain,
    23. K-Tec or BBPT Clio 1 down pipe (stainless steel) or if you can weld bodge your own,
    24. Turbo manifold can be found on ebay for abiut £90,
    25. GTX front engine metal mount (if you are lucky enough to source one) or drill R5GTT metal mount,
    26. GTX or Volvo alternator lower bracket and upper bracket,
    27. Alternator F7P or F7R,
    28. Starter motor F7P or F7R,
    29. Clio 16v Coil pack (looks like GTT AEI),
    30. Chargecooler or Intercooler setup,
    31. Coolant hoses,
    32. Clio 16v phase 1 radiator but you can use GTT radiator,
    33. Heat shield material for bulkhead to protect brake servo / cylinder,
    34. Clio 16v throttle cable,
    35. Throttle body gasket - 7700740706 £6.65inc VAT
    36. TDC sensor,
    37. Alternator belt that myself and Steve both used was a 4pk 825e from Halfords,

    Service parts
    1. Spark plugs,
    2. HT leads,
    3. Dizzy cap and rotor arm,
    4. 5.1 Litres of engine oil,
    5. Oil filter,
    6. Antifreeze / Coolant,
Plenty of cable solder and heat shrink or use blocks to start with so you know you have correct cables

Standalone ECU is the way to go with this conversion to be honest but there is a bloke on the valver and williams forum based in Oxford whom lives maps the standard or chipped ECU for about £200.00 and that is done on the roads not on a rolling road and once done on the road if you want he will stick it on the rollers also so you can see what it's doing

Can you run in low boost with standard pistons , or have to be machines to change compression ?

You could prob get away with running around 5-6psi on standard compression, if you lower the compression just by getting the standard piston tops machined you could obviously run more safer

The bolts in the shop are NOT stretch bolts. They as 12.9 high tensile.

The fastchips high boost chip is hard to come buy nowdays I know r5rich has a chip and ECU for sale on here and maybe engine dynamics aka BBPT might still be able to sell them. You can run low boost chip on standad compression but prob no more than 6/7 psi you really want to get compression down to 8.0:1 for the high boost chip and even lower it for the low boost setup really. 5teveL had 1.9mm skimmed of his OE pistons which brought his compression down to 8.5:1.
