half moon seals.
One is red.
One is black.
Engine is in place.
As I look at the front of the car , which side does the red one go ?

The half moons should be 2 different sizes one small and one larger and they will only go on one end each and they have a little nipple on aswell to get them in correct place

One is thicker than the other, the grooves where they fir are different widths IIRC

the red one you have will most likely go the timing chain end.
however.... i bet it will be too thick. some of the red ones are! - try and fit it in the bottom of the timing cover.....

Thanks folks.
In the end I didnt need to fit. Got the car up on ramps and zero oil weeping. It was coming from the turbo -> sump and from the back of the rocker cover. The rocker cover gasket might have well of been made from edam. Oil was all over the back of the engine.
