    plastic windows

    hya

    im putting plastic windows in me phase 2 renault 5 i was just wondering if any1 on here has second hand 1ns for sale or nows were to get sum from ?

    i rang demontweeks up and they wanted £300
    and they take 3 weeks to arrive.

    or if u no anywere else i can get sum from

    campus rear window rubbers, some perspex/lexan/acrylic from ebay/b&q/plastic supplier, and a fine jigsaw blade

    far as weight saving goes though are these not much of a saving?,as far as shattering goes then i guess there tip top legit...

    i have thought about having perspex rear windows in my 5, if i do i will be going to focus and getting a sheet of perspex for about £40

    yeh i did buy some perspex but it just kept shatterin even with a fine blade lol

    mite have another go at it coz i dont really want 2 pay £300

    I took my original windows to a plastics company they did front, Sides and rear window all cut perfect to size for £50! They also fitted sliders for me that i supplied them with.

    I think the reason it is so expensive is down to the fact they use polycarbonate rather than perspex.

    I remember before I bought my windows ages ago me and a mate were pricing up large sheets of polycarb so I could do my R5 and he could do his Astra, even with both of us going in on it together it still worked out just as expensive plus we would of had to cut them all ourselves.

    I wanted a set to, priced them up and by the time you add a tint, thicker window and a curve on them it soon mounts up.

    Shame we could no get a good group buy on these.
