    Cam re-grind v billet

I'm in the process of sourcing a cam and can see that if I order from say CGB they will give me £30 off for sending in an old cam. I think this is because they must use them for regrind.
I think you can also buy cams that are not reground (also cgb maybe ebay?) for a bit more.
I remember reading a year or two ago that some people were not so happy with regrinds e.g piper 285 because the profiles varied a lot perhaps Scoff or Sparkie?

So does it matter much do you reckon ??

I opted for a billet cam when i purchased my piper 285, for the same reasons as you mentioned above, it was a bit more expensive but i have always been of the mindset that you get what you pay for when it comes to things like this

I don't think the price difference for a billet is that much considering there is no exchange.
I looked on the piper website for local sellers that I have yet to contact.
Do you have any good experiences with any companies or does anyone else?

    Cheers

    Cheers Phil.
    They seem fairly competatively priced.
Might give it a whirl if I end up buying new.
