    Re: R5 gt 1.4t swap to b18ft

    Update from the last hour

    I have 2 bad news

1-st The injectors finish at 4K rpm and they hold till 5k Rpm and till 5k rpm the afr gauge shows 12.0. So I put the rev limiter to 4800 rpm .

2-nd The clutch slips on 5-th gear betwen 60-75 miles. After that it doesnt slip. But i hope soon will put new clutch with ceramic plates.

    1 Good news

with the td04 and the new exhaust manifold i got 0.7- 0.8 bar at 2800 rpm.

    After

Still need to do a bit of work on it to shine more but tomorrow maybe.

Yeah it looks much better resprayed , can't wait when i put everything in the bay . When everything is in, need to finish with the mapping of the car because the injectors were too small. So will get bigger ones.

How many miles you guys recommend to wait till i start pushing the car with the new clutch? I think 100 miles will be enough for the clutch to bed in.

Also i fit bigger injectors 315cc and fit the ceramic clutch. Yesterday i beat audi s3 with 2 or 3 cars. I was with my brother in the car.

I'm running now at 1.5 bar

On this video we start from 0-160++ and i was with to much wheel spin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QWs1_NvFdY

On this video we did flying start with the audi S3 and you will hear that my car R5 just after putting 3-th gear start to work not very good. This is because the fuel in the tank got a bit low but after that was ok. And still beat the audi, and in front of the peope i just overtake him and after that im making this distance 2 or 3 cars

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azrW6FgrmIs

I hope on 9-th of June to go to a Drag race and time attack and will see how it goes there

    Re: R5 gt 1.4t swap to b18ft

    Hi guys

what is your opinion to keep using the b18ft engine and to do some head work, bigger throttle body, Ep cam, bigger injectors ( I'm using ( now 304cc) and bigger turbo ( i'm using td04) and i think to buy td05 16g or 20g, or t28. Or to buy f7r engine with head from f7p and to use the td04.

At the moment my set up is:
Mega squirt, td04, tubular manifold, 304cc injectors. The boost is set up to 20 psi.

What do you think it will be better ?

    Cheers

You know what my opinion is mate

If you did decide to go F7R/P then i would upgrade the TDO4 turbo as that seems abit too small for the engine.

If your not after a massive amount of power then i would stick with the Volvo engine, the major part of work is done and you seem to have a fair bit of power under your right foot now. With a few more upgrades you could squeeze bit more out of it but if you only after abit more then this will be the cheaper option

Did you ever take it to drag strip and see what it done?

Yeah i went to the drag strip i had problems with second gear. When i'm racing and when i try to put second gear just it doesn't work. After the second or 3-th try i can select second gear and with this problems i still beat renault laguna 3.0 v6 207 hp. Just to say i use the long fork conversion Here is the video from the race

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R7ER...&feature=share

Well i don't know what power i have now. But since the race with the audi S3 i get use to the power and now it feels like that it's not fast. The power what i'm woking forward is 250hp or a bit more. I'm quite happy with the gear box it feels good on the drag and time attack. The gearbox code is jb3 009

What time did you do on the strip mate?

I think with the Megasquirt you might be able to get to around the 250bhp with what you got but you will need to do a bit more to it (deffinately change cam) to reach it

    Re: R5 gt 1.4t swap to b18ft

Yeah i think it's not bad as well, and i think that i'm a bit over 200bhp but no idea how much. The problem is it feels slow .

So this is the reason why i want to get some more Bhp.

p.s So what do you think guys it will be better to go for new engine or to keep going with the b18ft ??
