What causes piston ring failure

Pistons look to be standard, assuming rods are stock & the head is a decent height its got to be more or less standard comp ratio, tuner bs anybody?

I'll be ripping it apart over the next few weeks so I'll be able to let you know about the rods but can't see how they will make a difference TBH.

So I'm confused.... what makes it high comp

If you have standard pistons, liners and block then doubt you even had an MSM high comp engine to start with.

My old liners from my engine use to be machined down by 1mm so was the block, this was untill i returned to standard height block and liners before selling the engine on in bits

So sat against another liner you would notice the difference in height side by side pretty easily then Mark ?
