strange question this one, but i have been reading a profile of a fellow member and also a fellow raider owner and he states his raider is number xx of a 1000 made, how do you find what number raider it is?

Has anyone ever had the figure of 1000 verified from anywhere reliable? As far as I'm aware, it's just one of the many myths that surround the Raiders.

I know the clio V6's are numberd, didnt think renault were that orginised back in the day
172 exclusives make me laugh, 172 made in green and given a number out of 172 but only something like 30 made in monaco, which one would you think was exclusive

Williams clio were numberd.mine is number 215

there are only 8. le car 2 turbos registered with the DVLA..... and i own one of them , as does penfold, phildini and robbo off r5gordini... a VERY select group .

thats wrong go to renault tec and ask them im the 2nd owner from new and i have a paper saying 53 off 1000 made mate the other thing is there are defnutly 500 on a g reg and other 500 on a h plate all were numbered 1 to 500 on each year of raider gtt i should no as i have number 53 of 500 on a g reg you should beable to fine out though renault main dealers with a chassis number as well im told by renault some years ago

cars are only put on a plate as they are sold. so how can there be exactly 500 sold each year? im sure i heard of a raider being on a J plate so that ruins your description of 500 G and 500 H ??

well thats how they done it my car come from a canterbury kent main dealer which told me what this white piece of paper was with a dark blue 53 on it was its a4 size it dont have anything other than this on it as they sold my car to the 1st owner other than me mate
they ARE NOT RAIDERS THEN END OFF UNLESS they were bought as shell and them taken to dvla to be put on the road after that time
may i add tho i have never seen a j reg raider ph 2 j reg yes but they would be nomal one NOT RAIDERS

i believe they are stated as raiders in the V5, they are real, its a fact and someone can prove this if they choose to do so..
this is the renault turbo owners club, here for 15 years or so and no one has ever come up with proof of a limited run of raiders.. i've been here 5 years and im still waiting

Oh dear god! I've been a member sice 97, met some complete renault nuts (eat,**** and breath etc), both my brothers have Raiders (probabbly one of the most common 5gt's left) and no one has ever mentioned a raider numbering system, (NOT EVEN RENAULT DEALERS!)
I would advise putting us all right with proof of your documentation, for the clubs sake if anything.

I'm sure I may have seen a f plate raider. I wanna see this bit of paper. My mate owns a raider and would love to no what number his is if there is such numbering system. If I had a bit of paper with the actual no on it I'd post it straight away.

Mate no offence was meant it's a genuine curiosity just because I have south east area rep under my username does not mean I know everything but enough to help. If you have the paper what's the harm in sharing so we can all see it's actually what renault did as I have known a few peeps who have owned raiders but had no details of the numbers.
I have also owned various 5 gtt's for over 10 + years and worked on many others in these years no one has ever mentioned there raider being numbered. If you can't show the information why comment on this thread saying you have the alleged info but can't show it.
Not to sure why your getting so irrate when I asked nicely makes me think something doesn't ring true.

Ok so thers a J plate raider which turns out true, but regards being numbered maybe the 1st owner was fooled with a bit of paper with blue on it.
Maybe the sales guy needed to sell your one to get his end of month bonus

I can imagine there could conceivably have been 1000 made and could possibly have been numbered, even if it were nothing more than some manufacturing designation that wasn't intended for any sort of exclusivity or part of a pack to owners. If somehow this unlikely situation is true, it certainly remains unproven thus far. Everything else supposed here is complete pish though, especially the 500 G plates and 500 H plates
Given the popularity of Williams numbering and how well publicised/understood that is, the idea that we've not heard about an official Raider numbering run/certificate/whatever until now is one that stretches the boundaries of probability a bit too far.
I had a Clio trophy 312/500 plaque on the runner of the drivers seat and a megane r26 which was no 724 but didn't say of how many by the hand brake, think there were a couple of thousand of r26s not quite as exclusive as the trophy. I think it's only the f1 clios that are numbered not just liquid yellow ones. SHOW US THE PAPER.

Thats a bit odd, the J plate one got registered on the 09/02/1990 but raider_gtt one got registered on 20/04/1990
Anyone know if the Vin numbers are in order of manufacture or how they are worked out? Once again the J plate has a lot lower number than raider_gtt one

My understanding is that the Raider was introduced on G-plate and thus sold in the majority on that reg' mark, with several surplus models appearing on H and even J plate.
The 500 on G & 500 on H comment is vary vary vary vary (sic) incorrect.
I know this is most likely diverting the thread slightly but.. I've personally seen more raiders than I have electric blue 5 GT Turbos so if anything they should have been given a limited number !
If and a big if at that, That Renault did infact produce documentation that indicated that the raider was a limited run with a unique indiviual number then I more than confident they would have provided the buyer or the dealership with more that just a number on a paper
I really don't wish to belittle you but that "number" you have could just be for example 'car number = "what ever" ' on there forcourt
It probably says raider blue followed by the paint code.
