    are handbrake cables sided?

Bought some handbrake cables from cgb but now I don. Have enough adjustment on the rod to get the amount of clicks down for MOT requirement but are the cables the same length? If not which side should have the shorter cable?

same length, make sure you route them properly as they cross as they go under the car.

the cable on the right hand side of the handbrake goes to the left caliper and vice versa. have you routed them like that?

Have you reset the calipers?? Im sure you can push the handbrake handle on the calipers right back and that takes the play out of the caliper arms. Never tried it myself but a mate told me once to do it when i had big play in my cables instead of trying to adjust it at the handbrake handle end.

Yeah cables are routed correctly. Nick do you mean pushingthe little arms that operate on the caliper right back? WOuld you do that with the brake pressed? So the piston is as far out as it can go?

Are they Renault cables or aftermarket? I have had trouble with aftermarket ones, hence why I only sell OE ones. They are the same lenght, same part number and fit first time.

    Cheers

Are they the ones with the blue outer? OE ones aren't cheap, but sometimes, like with the clutch cables it is easier to bite the bullet as the time you save pays off in the long run.

Silly question time, it is a GT Turbo hand brake you have? As the campus have a different adjuster on them.

Take the cable off the caliper hand brake arm , push the arm right back towards the back of the car and then re-attact cables to arm.
