Some Fantastic Cars at a recent Dutch Meet

Have a look HERE for loads of pictures from a recent Renault Meet in The Netherlands

There's some UBER cool cars there but many of them seem to be in the background of the pictures being taken so keep your eyes peeled!!

    My Favourites have to be:

    The General Lee 5
The Phase 1 Tungy in the background
The Black (I think) car with the Zender (again I think) alloys on

We should arrange a trip to a Dutch meet for sure!!!!

    Some great looking cars.

Is it me or do left handers just not look right sometimes?

Re: Some Fantastic Cars at a recent Dutch Meet

Why don't we have meet-ups like that any more? I remember back to the Pod days we used to go when there'd be 50+ rtoc cars easily in attendance.

I think too much emphasis is put on attending ND, with the 'local' regular meets getting over-looked. That, or that people now just can't be arsed with them.

I'd be up for a trip over to Holland Newcastle-Amsterdam overnight ferry FTW

Agree mate, i remember when i started going to the my first RTOC meets there were at least 30+ cars at every event and as you say 50+ at pod RWYB days.
I'll try and sort a few meets up throughout the year but would be good if we could start getting some more turns out like the good old days.

Some very nice cars in those pic's, is it me or does it seem there are more straight rot free examples in europe then over here. Seems that at all the european events alot of very clean examples turn out.

Re: Some Fantastic Cars at a recent Dutch Meet

I'm with Mart, I us'd to love the meets we did have!

but it seems that some people just have no respect.

not one of those cars has had some kid running their fingers down the side of it, or some chav trying to get in to have a sit inside and play with all the switches!

the euro lads seem to be blessed with good dealerships who open the door so you don't have meets where idiots turn up

it might be worth looking into having a meet at the donnington museum or something like that where we can just get together with other renault nuts and have a good day

either that or EUROPE here we come!!!!

Donington museum meet-up would be great, and I'm sure the Wheatcroft family would be grateful of the extra income given current circumstances (nice one Gillet )

It's a fairly central location, and a bonus if they'd let us pitch up tents of the Saturday night as well.

Re: Some Fantastic Cars at a recent Dutch Meet

well i wasn't thinking that but its a good way to pass an afternoon, from memory there's plenty of parking and its in the middle of the country right next to a few major roads, plus there are hotels etc

I think social events that involve just parking up, chatting and relaxing might be a bit more fun as some of us get older

best event I have ever been to was Zolders alpine meet, with the 21oc

just park up, watch the racing (classic F1), did a parade lap which got cocked up cos of some stupid tw&ts, and lots of food and drink

Now that looks like my idea of a perfect event! Cars and planes, with the odd tank chucked in for good measure

It's a shame it's too late for RTOC to get a stand there . I could always go with the MLR though

Re: Some Fantastic Cars at a recent Dutch Meet

Well, as promised I've been in touch regarding a trip over to Holland and attending one of their events. Im reliably told they have two of those meetings a year, one at the beginning the year and one to close the year. They have many little meetings throughout the year but none we would probably find as beneficial and enjoying as the one in the photos. Now, I have been advised on what they think we should do and that is to wait until next year and attend their anniversary meeting that is promising to be one of the biggest Holland has seen. The Renault Tuning Club (that runs that event and the one in the photos) celebrates it's 10 year anniversary next year and if we were going to attend one and make the journey over what better event to attend...I'd be happy to help organize this as I have attended a couple of these events and know exactly how brilliant they are...Not to mention the people...Just let me know...

    Hope that helps peeps..

PS. They haven't finalized a date yet for the anniversary meet but will let me know as soon as they do...

    Lomo

So up for this, surelly the harwich to hook van holland ferry would be a better idea. Then it's only a hour and a half in holland to the location.

Tino/Dutch enthusiasts have always made an effort. Lomo and others have also made the effort travelling over to Amsterdam.

Well the roof rack and the mudflaps are totally out the question though, not putting them on!

I just had a read through that project thread, not bad does look nice and not much different from mine apart from he's got little more interior than me. Was thinking of refitting the door cards and carpet again as its alittle noisy in there.

Got to love how they hold cars up over there with no engine, strope from the roof anyone!!
