    wiring for the conversion

i managed to get most of the conversion translated into english just needed to know whether these plugs that they talk of in the guide would be the same as the ones of the turbo and the locations of them. there is some diagrams of the locations but cant copy them to here. so here it goes (some words are still in german)

    Cable plan
    for the rebuilding of her
16 V of engines F7P and F7R from him Clio in the R5 GTE
    This switch plan is for the rebuilding of 1.8 16 V (F7P) and 2.0 16 V (F7R) from him
Clio 16 V or Williams in the R5 GTE.
There are 2 possibilities the cable rope of the engine to the cable rope of the GTEs
    to adapt:

    1. To separate the suitable cables in the plugs and directly with
To connect squeeze link (if necessary with a piece of cables as
    Lengthening).

    2. One is founded an adaptor cable rope. This is provided with plug and
it can be removed over and over again.

The second possibility is in my opinion the better. The required plugs
if one agrees with the Autoverwerter or "scrap yard". They must not go from one
Be GTE or Clio 16 V, the plugs of smaller engine variations are identical. One
needs the plug R28 (Renaultbezeichnung) of the R5 and the plugs R67A and
R67D from from Clio. Best of all one procures for himself in each case 2 plugs, because them
Plug kleto smaller engine variations are not always completely covered. One has
therefore to cover enough contacts around the required plug fully. How one him
Cable harness in the engine space is moved to itself leave (is a question
Of taste). One can also attach the control device to the place in the GTE, where
    the original one sits.
The single veins of the new adaptor cable rope should go from the cross section to those
of the originals correspond. A cross section of 1.5 mm2 for all cables up to this
Start cable for the magnet counter of the starter, both Pluses
Cable (duration and switched plus) and the cable to the injection pump (to plug
R1) are according to my opinion enough. The cable to the magnet counter and her
Gas pump should have a cross section of 2.5 mm2, the plus pipelines mind.
    4mm2.
The main tension care of the starter is taken over from the GTE, also
the mass tapes. The battery connection clips of the Moror cable harness become
    cut and isolated
The developer them of this cable plan no liability for the correctness or takes over
Damages from the application of this plan originate.

plug r28 is on the 5 loom that sits behind drivers side headlight
plug r5 is on the 5 loom that sits in Interior, behind to the ashtray
The veins of the required Pins do not need to be separated. The new ones
Connecting leads can with cable-quick clamp link (stream thieves)
are connected. From this plug cables go to the ignition module and
to the Wassertemp. giver of the engine GTE, this can in the engine space
    remain or are cut off.
the plug r1 sits by the driver side door which goes to the fuel pump
In this plug the cable of the Pins B7 must be cut and the new one
Cable (comes from the R76D small, Pin B4) are connected
plug r65 sits behind the dash as it comes up from the fuse box 2 plugs by the looks of it.
This plug is behind the middle console and is only with developed ones
To reach ashtray. He exists of 2 s and only the 2-pole
black one is required. The cable rope from this plug to the original
Control device (in the footwell of the front seat passenger, behind the carpet) goes can remotely
become, incl. 2 relays (236,238) in the holder of the control device
plug r67a and r67d in engine cable rope
The plugs are at the end of the engine cable rope and is with Clio in that
black box behind the left floodlight. 3 relays in her nearness must go
of course are also taken over. The bigger is R67A of the smaller R67D

Are you planning on putting a F7P/R into a 5?

If so speak to Mr White, He's done it recently with a F7P

Big foot has a F7R T in his 5 ( Not that anybody has actually seen it on the road )

I have a F7R megane engine in my clio but believe me you don't want to go there!! the wiring is a bitch

    Re: wiring for the conversion

right on the diagram that was translated from german it said that i had to connect three wires from the plug in the engine bay to a plug that come up from the fuse box. i couldnt see a plug coming up from the fuse box with the dash there so i whipped it off today to find out that there isnt any plugs on the main dash loom coming from the fuse box. the only thing that i could see that makes any sense of what it was saying is the two plugs that sits behind the ash tray. but then earlier on with the wiring diagram this plug was refered to as a different plug. would the different sides of a plug be named different things.

also would like to know what on earth is a diagnosis plug all about?

    many thanks paul

Steve this may be of some use for you aswell

R5 GTT Fuel pump relay wires under dash, as you can use the connections in your wiring.

PIN 1: (Fat white) Live wire to fuel pump (This is the thick white wire on the white plug that goes to the fuel pump)
    PIN 2: (Black) Earth
    PIN 3: (Brown) Rev Counter
    PIN 4: UNUSED
    PIN 5: (Yellow) Ignition Live
PIN 6: (Fat Red) Battery Live

remove the black cover under the passenger dash the one that covers the fuse box, the fuel pump relay shoul be up behind the fuse holder/

    Re: wiring for the conversion

OK, for anyone using the R19 phase 1 wiring this is what I have so far, admittedly I still need to check it all works but will update.

    R19 brown plug --------------------- R5 engine loom

    C7 ---------------------------------------------A1
    D4--------------------------------------------- A5
    D6--------------------------------------------- A6
    D7 ---------------------------------------------A7
    B5--------------------------------------------- B2
    B4--------------------------------------------- B4
    C2 ---------------------------------------------B3
    B7 ---------------------------------------------B6
    D3 ---------------------------------------------B7

----------------------------------------R5 plug behind ashtray (just tap in with cable clamps)

    C1 ---------------------------------------------B1
    B1 ---------------------------------------------B7
    B6--------------------------------------------- C1

Fuel pump wiring (I may see if tapping into the white wire after the relay works, need to check with a multi meter) The instructions suggest this plug is by the drivers footwell kick plate.

    A7 ---------------------------------------------B7

Still to look for this but apparently there is a black two pin plug under the dash somewhere, one wire is constant live, the other ign/switched

    A6 + D1 + pin 6 on ecu------- Live feed --------------------------Pin 1
    C7 ------------------------ Switched ign feed ----------------------Pin 2

    A3-------------------------- pin 9 on ecu

    Earth-----------------------pin 2 on ecu

Apparently the other plug (refered to the white plug) isn't used at all on the R19 phase 1 wiring, hence why I doubt phase 2 ecu's will work, I need to check if any clio ecu works at all.

Just to add to this, phase 2 ecu's will not work AFAIK.

    Re: wiring for the conversion

Steve, just adding your bits for the phase 1 clio loom to GTT loom as this is what I used and worked for my conversion

    Clio 16v loom---------------------------------------R5 loom
    C7 ---------------------------------------------A1
    D4--------------------------------------------- A5
    D6--------------------------------------------- A6
    D7 ---------------------------------------------A7
    B5--------------------------------------------- B2
    B-4--------------------------------------------- B-4
    C2 ---------------------------------------------B3
    B7 ---------------------------------------------B6
    D3 ---------------------------------------------B7

----------------------------------------R5 plug behind ashtray (just tap in with cable clamps)
    C1 ---------------------------------------------B1
    B1 ---------------------------------------------B7
    B6--------------------------------------------- C1

smaller white plug B-4------------- B7 drivers footwell (fuel pump)

Clio brown plug B2 & D1 ---------------------------- Constant live feed
Clio white plug A3 & A7 -----------------------------Constant live feed
    Clio Brown Plug A1 & C7 --------------------------- Switched Live
