just fitted one, took about 30mins as on a gtt you can do it all from inside the car (apart from resetting the gear positions)
probably the best £20 i've ever spent on the car, feels like a new gearbox!

Where about's on his site do you go to order one? or do you contact him directly?

stiff shift not slack
Just bought one of these.
The car is as old as me and the gear stick is extra wobbly.
How was it to fit?
I'll be greatful for some photo tips Woz
A stiff stick makes all the difference
i did opposite to the instructions
take off gearknob and drop all the bits in from the top, saves taking apart half the things they instruct you too
No need to remove centre console miller, the whole shifter drops out the bottom when you take the circlip off from underneath. I fitted my ebay short shift without anyway.
i took the centre console out as i didn't want to get dirty under the car, so took out the whole plastic assembly and unbolted selector rod from inside car
I fitted the Stiff Shift 2.0 which required the gearstick housing to be modified for the compression (stiffness) adjustment screws, other wise the procedure would have been a lot easier. Here's a few pics:
Step 1.
Step 2.
Step 3.
Step 4.
Step 5.
Step 6.
More to follow......
Step 7. Stretch off rubber pivot housing.
What was that gucci selector rod you fitted Woz, a quick shift?

Yes mate, it is called 'Quick Shift' from dp-automotive.

my lift up reverse spring was under the stiff shift on mine, not above like yours?!
maybe its just a difference in later models as mine had the old type 'red' ball too
I believe that Clios have the spring under the the pivot housing, so I would say that is the later type. Markey b, does your gearstick have the same connection to the long selector rod going fwd to the gearbox?
Step 8. I had to pull off the reverse mech and spring so I could slide the SS2 over the gear stick.
Step 9. Pivot hosing on and gear stick reassembled.
Step 10. Gear stick assy temp placed back into mount to gauge mods required for SS2 adjustment bolts.
Step 11. Gear stick mount modified for adjustment bolts with a air die grinder and rotary file (Dremel will work just as well).
Step 12. Gear stick assy refitted for final assembly.
Step 13. Base plate washer and seal (mine was torn so I removed most of the seal) fitted. The o-ring at the base of the SS2 sets the preload or lowest stiffness and SS2 can be fitted with no o-ring, the std o-ring or the thick o-ring. I went with the std o-ring and that seemed to be a good level of stiffness, allowing the gear stick tension spring to still move the stick.
Step 14. Base plate washer retaining circlip refitted and the gear stick assy and mount are ready to be re-fitted to the car.
is the o.e repair kit still available from Renault?
Right, my Stiff Shift came this morning and I had a go at fitting it.
When I put the 'ball' bit between the cups, it doesn't sit close at all... or anywhere near It fits through the holes on either side with about 3-4mm clearance. Am I missing something or is there something not right about the ball bit on my car?
Cold the phase 1 ball be smaller?
I knid of butchered the white surround and can't get my Quaife style knob off so I'll get another stick anyway. Just very weird, unless I did miss something.
i just measured the hole in the cups for the stiff shift. They're 36mm across, does that sound right?

I know what I done wrong now
I hadn't used the white plastic bits that held the ball in the original rubber casing part.
Thanks to Markey B for pointing me in the right direction
