Handbrake!!
Hi, guys got to fix the problem with my handbrake as it's the only thing stopping me from getting the thing MOT'd. I have tried two diffrent sets of cables and both seem to be too long I have adjusted the yoke fully and still no good. Any one got any ideas as to what else it could be, the calipers are good as I have just refurbished them.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Handbrake!!
you do know that they cross over? the right hand side on the yoke goes to the left hand side caliper?

Re: Handbrake!!
And i think the Original Renault Ones are a little bit shorter allowing for more adjustment?

Re: Handbrake!!
i had same problem, new cables(same length as before, allowing for some stretch),new calipers, cables cross over, pistons wound out to a knats so i can just get pads in...
have now modded(shortened) the adjuster so to take up the slack,i should not really have to but thats what i have done..

Re: Handbrake!!
Fit some gen renault cables & make sure the pistons are free/move ok. They only scrape 800 on the brake test when working right which is barely a pass in my experience!

Re: Handbrake!!
Ok, guys had another crack and it seems as if the cables ain't locking into the yoke properly any one got any close up pics of how the fit/lock into it and is it still available from renault new??

Re: Handbrake!!
you may need to use a screwdriver to open the two halves of the yoke slightly. the end of the cable kinda pops through it and the ferrule gets caught up in an L shaped extension off the side of the yoke.

Re: Handbrake!!
I think I may be missing a part of the yoke as it will not lock the cable just pops out
