Removing the carb. What do ya do about the coolant hoses

What does everyone do here when removing the carb. Do ya HAVE to let 1 litre of coolant out the bottom rad hose or do I just remove the water pipes from bottom of the carb and let a bit of coolant dribble out???

Just let a bit of coolant dribble out or bridge with a bit of 8mm copper pipe.

I normally bridge mine like you say just in case i need to take the carb on & off a few times especially if setting a carb up saves loosing coolant.
