Are the 3/4 plates standard size lettering with the border chopped?

I done a set years ago on my old gtt, chopped the border of the plate off on the table saw at work Coppers never once give me any hassle.

Anybody tried the 'legal' pressed plates from dubmeister?

they are 3/4 of the size, like a scaled down plate, completely illegal, but actually look less illegal than a french one if that makes sense..

    french:

    3/4 plate:

another way, which is legal, is to get a regular plastic GB plate, and just cut off the GB, making it shorter

i've never had anything more than a telling off from police for them,

they usually start with 'is your car french then' which the reply was 'yes actually, its a renault'

    Re: french plates

You can't get ones from Dubmeister in proper euro font now, as they're illegal. Craigsplates is where I went this time around and they look spanking search Google and you will find a 10% discount code too...

There's nothing you to stop you chopping down plates as long as there is, if memory serves, 11mm of white/ yellow spacing round the outside of the letters. If you are running a smaller font, and your car is euro type approved (i.e. all R5s) be warned. I ended up in court!
